That is what my most trusted source revealed to me moments ago.

He’d be entertaining, the right kind of terrible to allow you to tank and reset the assets, and he’ll be a good soldier and take a team friendly buyout when it’s time to get a real coach
You may be onto something

He was more than happy to take language in his LSU contract that basically iced him from taking any other job and fade into the background
Give him a nice thank you check and an unlimited tab at Senior Frogs and he’ll help the next guy move in

By no means did that include a “friendly buyout”. He was owed 16.9 million dollars and made sure he got every penny of it. Now I don’t blame him for that but I don’t know what world you live in but in no way shape or form is 17 million dollars to go away “friendly” in my world.

Taking that money and going off into the wilderness to never be heard of is team friendly.
Could’ve easily fought LSU on the buyout and conditions on the buyout but chose to take the money and run. I’m not saying he gave LSU a break financially, but he went out the door without making a fuss and agreeing to the “5 LSU marketing events” component which was basically a 5 year non compete and has never really y had a negative thing to say about LSU since
I wasn’t saying he forgoe his buyout by millions of dollars by any means.
Also I was fricking joking so you’re talking this way too seriously

Will he run the Joe Brady offense?

A 5 year non compete in what capacity or position? Coaching football?
Yes I know you were joking, yet a 5 year non compete for Ed Orgeron in hindsight is a testament to his world class agent.

Famously we put in 5 “events” into his buyout that were supposed to be LSU related events he had to take part of to fulfill his buyout over the remainder of the terms
He of course never fulfilled any of these events nor did LSU want him to, it was just a round about way to icing him from going elsewhere to coach and negatively recruiting LSU on a different staff to ensure he kept the full part of his buyout
I was simply alluding to that. Mystery solved.
