My Terrible Yard, mud, and sand.

So quick background. I'm not into the greenest grass competition, and my yard absolutely has torpedo already from river sand that was brought in by a neighbor.
My backyard sucks. Not level, few holes, and my drainage is awful. After the 10" of snow, my backyard is straight mud. Is it worth it for me to bring in some sand to attempt to level my yard, or will I be wasting money since my yard is like a marsh and grass won't be growing anytime soon?

It takes more sand than you think. I had a similar problem. I brought it some sand to fill holes and added French drains and regular drains to help drainage. It's still a working progress but better.

I’m far from a lawn expert but from my experience in south Louisiana no grass will spread or fill in areas dirt was added until May. If you lawn level now it will stay dirt for a few months.

Start over. If you have torpedo you’ll always have it unless you go nuclear

I wouldn’t do anything right now….it is still January.

I can't nuke my neighbors yard, so there's no point in nuking mine. It's just going to grow back.
I've tried. It's not worth it.

re: Sand
What kind of soil do you have? I know around here, sand + red clay = concrete.

have a good dirt install contractor come take a look. not a dirt guy (truck hauler)...an installer. adding fill sometimes makes a bad problem worse
