It's okay.
I'd skip it and get the CT5 sedan. That's a good vehicle, it's bigger, has a better chassis, and it's the same price.
The XT4 and most of the XT4's competitors are crossovers for women. Most of the ones in that class are lame - like the BMW X1, the Mercedes GLA, and the Audi Q3. They are all cheap, volume sellers to keep the dealers open. None are very good.

Are you smarter than all of the consumer reviews and the trade magazines?

My wife just traded hers in. She hated it. Car doesn’t ride or handle well. Bounces all over the place. Fuel mileage sucks too. She went back to a car…a Mercedes CLE 300. Much heavier frame and the technology in that thing blows Cadillac away…

MIL owned a Volvo XC40 (ranked as #1 on the list) and it was a huge disappointment. Cheap interior and had nagging mechanical issues. My wife previously owned both a BMW and Mercedes and we vowed never again at those experiences. Both cars ate struts and the dealership service costs were outrageous.

The entire class of compact "luxury" crossovers are all warmed over economy cars with a fancy badge. They all suck. But women make a lot of car buying decisions, and they love lame crossovers.
The OP would be better served in one of Cadillac's awesome sports sedans.
Or upsize into a much cheaper Honda CR-V if he wants a crossover. Don't buy a Volvo XC40, BMW X1, or Cadillac XT4. They only exist because dealers were begging for something cheaper to move things in volume and the car companies threw something together very quickly.

It's a fake, cheaper Cadillac for people who can't afford a real Cadillac. It's probably better than the BMW X1, but that's not saying much. Entry level luxury crossovers was a hot segment and now it's declining. Carmakers rushed to have product in that segment, and almost none of them are any good.
It's a shame, but BMW, Cadillac, Genesis, and Mercedes have excellent sports sedans around that price but they can barely sell them right now.

I hope you don't mean the Lexus UX because that's a piece of shite too. It looks, feels, and drives like the subcompact Toyota Vomitron thing.
Just pass on that stupid thing.
It's a weird that something so shitty ever shared a showroom with legitimately good cars like the Lexus IS sports sedan, Lexus ES luxury sedan, and even the larger RX crossover.

Yeah, the Toyota/Lexus cult has shown up.
Buy what you like. There really isn't a bad choice these days for the most part. Plus, the Caddy has a better warranty than many/most.
I kind of chuckle about these mini lux SUVs myself. I have a 2019 Blazer RS that stickered for about the same as the new Caddy the OP is looking at while being larger with a better powertrain and pretty much the same options.. Not a fan of the rush downmarket by the luxury players.

Agreed. The luxury x-overs are not a wise purchase from any car manufacturer. The new Cadillac is in a class by itself, especially the V-series.
