So, I have 8 gallons of milk and 17 loaves of bread...what do I do?

Was at the grocery store the other day and saw people panic buying bread and milk and other stuff.
Having remembered the toilet paper fiasco of covid, I knew just what to do. I raced my cart down the aisle, rushing past single mothers with 7 kids and confused fathers staring a lists.
I got to the bread aisle, knocked a granny out the way and snatched every white loaf I could, making sure to smush the remaining loaves so they would be useless to the latecomers.
I left the healthy bread with flavor for those weirdos.
Then, it was off to the milk aisle. Barreling past the growing line I threw the door open only to find that it was dwindling. So I grabbed every milk I could. 2%.
3%. Whole milk. Half milk. Yak milk. Cat milk
But not soy that's shits gross and we're done with that.
Having fulfilled the custom, I am now home.
I am prepared to make what must be a famous snow-in-the-south recipe.
I've tried various ways but have yet to achieve. Milk sandwich was too soggy.
I have now crammed three loaves in a pot and covered it with milk. It's boiling, am
I doing it right?
Am I making milky bread soup?
/s
TL;DR
Seriously though. What's the deal? Went yesterday and the bread, broth and milk were wiped out. Except for the healthier breads. Got some rye and Kaiser rolls
What do people make with all this? Or does most of it go bad?

I usually get bread when weather is coming in like that in case we lose power and will make sandwiches. If power doesn't go out, it's french toast.
We don't drink enough milk to be that concerned about getting milk.

I’m guessing sandwich stuff since kids are home from school

I mean, I get having bread and milk
But everyone regularly buys bread and milk. It's always in stock
But when snow hits the shelves look like Covid

The milk and bread rush has always baffled me too.
But... I rarely have milk and bread on hand normally so perhaps I am the weird one.

Bottom line is most people are damn greedy and narcissistic. No need to share as long as I'm comfortable

Snowmageddon, man.
Don’t you know that if you’re not stocked up for 6 months, you might starve to death after 2 days of this?
It’s science.

The Wal Mart on Burbank was pretty well stocked yesterday afternoon. Found everything I wanted.

You should make snow bread. Throw pieces of bread in the yard, let it collect snow.. Pick up and put in freezer. When you want a snack, take one out, put some shredded cheese on top and pour some syrup on it.

You'd be surprised at the number of people who don't regularly keep milk and bread. Especially with the invention of food delivery services like DoorDash.

It's all you need to survive until it all melts 3 hours later.
