Did they allow Howard on the podium this time?

The rose bowl persecuted him a few weeks ago for being vocally Christian

Why does Jesus hate ND?

I mean I get it, we all hate ND. But specifically, why does Jesus?

I can't imagine anything more arrogant than thinking, with the horror on this Earth, some dumbass teenager thinks God ignored decapitated babies to get them that touchdown. They're ignorant morons

It’s ok to be thankful and give gratitude win or lose. I’m more of a private person when it comes to this, but there are worst things than giving all the glory to God.

It's not about who wins the game, but giving God the glory for whatever you accomplish, with the understanding that talents and opportunities are blessings. And I know non-believers tend to get mad when they hear that, because they think it takes credit away from the hard work of the person/people involved... Well, the truth is that we should take credit away from ourselves. The hard work still counts and is something to be proud of, but lots of people have worked really hard at something, only to realize later that they were never going to be good at that thing. Because it wasn't an area where they were gifted like others are.

Everyone has their own talents, and it's just a matter of identifying them and using them correctly. And the glory belongs to God, always.

A lot of people miss the point here. I don't believe in praying to win a game, because there are praying people on both sides. So, never in my life have I prayed for a team to win. I only pray for safety of all involved. But when it comes to thanking God, too many are assuming that these athletes are suggesting that God was pulling for their team. As I spoke about in my post above in this thread, it's about thanking God for your talents and the opportunity to do something you love to do. So that means, even if you lose, you still praise God.

It's all about redirecting self-praise and giving it to God instead. We aren't supposed to be boastful. So I don't know why anyone would be offended by another showing gratitude and humility. It's become a rare thing in modern society.

And by the way, God is not limited like you and I. He doesn't have to ignore babies in order to make time to bless someone. God can see all and hear all things at once. And what He chooses to do in each person's life is not always what we think it should be or wish it would be, because we don't see the future, and we can't possibly understand the reason behind everything. We might wish that God never allowed anyone to suffer, which makes some people get offended by others thanking God for something that might seem otherwise trivial. But God didn't bring sin and death into the world... we did. And we can't escape that fate. A lack of suffering in this world was therefore not promised to us. That doesn't mean that God doesn't still bless those who are faithful to Him.

Does that mean you'll win the game? No. Sometimes the blessings come in the lessons we learn in hard times that make us stronger, and the fact that God holds us up when we feel like giving up. Winning a game feels nice, but that's not really the point. The journey that got you wherever you are, and whatever you've achieved, is something to thank God for.

I’ve never taken it as being thankful for a final score or particular play when guys give thanks but more of an overall gratefulness of their situation to participate/compete at that level.

Conventional science would say that this is quite wrong. Death and suffering existed in this world long before humans evolved.

With all due respect, science has never supported the world view of evolution. Science requires observation in order to understand the context of whatever it is you're studying. And since no one was around to witness millions and billions of years of history, the only way to interpret millions of years into any dating method is to assume that something is that old. You cannot prove it.

You see, my faith is in God. And my world view and interpretation of the age of the Earth comes from the Bible. We have the creation of all things happening in 6 days, followed by a detailed genealogy that brings us to about 6 thousand years. And since Genesis very clearly states that there was no death in the world, until Adam and Eve sinned, it is not consistent to say that first came death, and then the fall, followed by death. How can death follow the fall if it already existed?

If you believe in evolution, then that is also a faith, though one without any foundation. There are so many dating methods, which give wildly different numbers, and none of them can be understood without knowing the history of the object that is tested. You cannot test the accuracy of a dating method if you don't know its beginning. So evolutionists guess about how old they think something should be, based on their presuppositions of how long it takes something to form and decay, and so on. So if they test for an age and the number doesn't fit, they try another. That's not how science works. But that is what evolutionists have repeatedly been caught doing. You must observe the entire life span of something, and compare it to some other similar object which you have also observed from it's beginning, in order to accurately test the reliability of your dating methods. If you date a rock or a bone to be millions of years old without knowing what conditions it's been subjected to during it's entire existence, then you have no idea how to actually interpret the data.

And that is only speaking about the age of the Earth and things within it. Never mind the numerous fakes of so-called "missing links" that they've been caught making, trying to prove evolution, itself. Why do people who claim to be about science and truth feel the need to fake things in order to come up with an explanation?
