I know this should be on the movie board but considering that David Lynch was not only one of the greatest directors of all time, but one of the earliest and only Hollywood Trump supporters…I think it deserves a spot on here.

Rest in Peace sir. Thank you for all the insane classics

Eraserhead will go down as possibly the weirdest movie I have ever seen.

His mind worked in mysterious ways ... but he was definitely a pioneer and a good Conservative/Libertarian in Hollywood.

He will be wrapped in plastic and left for a fisherman to find in the Pacific Northwest.

And his G rated film was my favorite by him:
The Straight Story .

RIP. Twin Peaks and others were so much fun and so memorable.

The Elephant Man (1980) was a great movie. Dune (1984) not so much.

Lynch drew a polarizing response earlier this week when he made remarks about Trump in an interview with The Guardian. “He could go down as one of the greatest presidents in history because he has disrupted the thing so much. No one is able to counter this guy in an intelligent way,” Lynch said. “Our so-called leaders can’t take the country forward, can’t get anything done. Like children, they are. Trump has shown all this.”

Beyond Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, etc...The man had the cojones to attempt a monster like "Dune" and it was far from terrible, even with limited sfx in the 80s.

Cheers, Mr. Lynch.

I just read about his last two years. Ugh. Incredibly sad. Emphysema from smoking for 70 years (yes since age 8). Shut in. Fourth wife of 15 years left him. And as a final bonus: evacuated from LA fires.

Reads like… a Lynch film.

In my view, Mulholland Drive is one of the greatest movies of all time.

He took the Bernie route to Trump. He was a borderline anarchist though. I wouldn’t call his political theory “coherent.” But he definitely hated the establishment.

I remember the first time I watched Eraserhead. I was probably 16-17. We were potheads and into weird stuff, lol. Talk about disturbing.

But he was brilliant. Twin Peaks is legendary.
