Maybe because nobody wants to watch a boring, poorly coached team lose game after game in a mostly empty morgue-like atmosphere?

I could list a few for you:

1) The fan experience is tailored to keep things moving and keep crowd entertained during timeouts

2) Those coaches make themselves available to the public and promote their teams to drive interest

3) The cost to attend is cheap, especially for a family

4) They win...

Do you know that OP doesn’t go to men’s basketball games? That info is not in the post. There are many of us who have tickets to both men’s and women’s basketball games.

And he is right. The experience at the women’s games are far superior to the men’s games. From the product on the court to the supporting activities (time-out activities, halftime, etc) the women’s games are more tailored to the overall fan experience than the men’s games.

I don't do either basketball, mostly because it's too hard to schedule with my kids sports. We do gymnastics because it's easier to make. Gymnastics is alot of fun to watch, although our tickets are somehow in the very top row this season.

Not a knock on these programs because I agree they are exciting and I never miss a game or meet. tRant gripes about NIL and budgeting. These programs cost LSU loss 11MM in 2023 from these 2. Not sure how much NIL for traditions fund is spent towards those but for all of the 20MM spent in NIL for 2023/2024 only 8 was spent on football.

2023 budget deficit for WBB and Gym
-7MM+ WBB
-4 MM Gym
