Guys like Mark Zuckerberg, Peter Theil, Elon musk, and even Jeff Bezos. What has changed for these guys since his first term?

Not sure but they were absolutely cornered and controlled by the Obama cabal (which includes Biden). I think they realize less federal government control over their companies, the better.

It is curious. Some tech bro, google exec or some such said back in ’16 that Trump winning would ’never happen again’. Then we saw how 2020 was fortified, but not ‘24.

Apparently zuck is dialing back the DEI hires at FB. I feel like some of the guys realized what a detriment this was and are almost in a way using Trump's presidency to correct things

- Most of them are going with the wind. Also Trump promising deregulation.

- Biden's leading huge anti-trust investigations into Big Tech. it was going to recommend to split up Google from Chrome (#1 internet browser with 70% market share)

- AI was going to be a huge regulatory target for Biden/Kamala's DOJ. Big Tech's stocks are on fire from AI investors..

- Thiel was already MAGA in 2016 and was a early Facebook investor

- the Paypal Mafia (Thiel, Musk, other successful guys) invested in Vance's 2020 Senate run which put him on Trump Jr's radar

- Big tech is going through massive layoffs and DEI teams dont bring in profit. They get to lay off more workers while gaining his favor

Tech Bros saw how bad Biden was doing and knew Dems would likely get wiped out in 24. It's a miracle for them that Republicans don't have a 25 seat majority in the House and a 15 seat majority in the Senate.

If you remember, they were all sort of neutral in the middle of election season. Dems showed they were going authoritarian, Trump sent signals he was going to cater to Big Tech. So the Tech Bros began moving to Trump.

These guys are going with the prevailing winds. If Trump screws this up again like he did before and sets the stage for Dems to take over at midterms, you'll see all of them switch back, but they'll try to get assurances from Dems that they'll be left alone and left out of the authoritarian desires of the left, and in exchange they'll dump hundreds of millions into Dem campaigns, censor, etc. Don't forget, Elon has the WEF lady at X and her mantra has been 'speech not reach' so if there's a break from Trump, X will become Twitter once again.

Also, all the tech bros know that they broke the law by cooperating with govt censorship. When you act in concert with the govt, you are the govt - Trump can walk in and take over Google, Facebook, and others if he wants, as part of an investigation into civil rights issues. Tech bros are seeking de facto immunity with him.

Zuckerberg and the rest will be hoisting rainbow flags and censoring everyone in red counties if Dems get power again. It's an easy gig for them, they'll claim too many extremists in MAGA and that content moderation must come back, they'll bill it as finding the happy middle, blah blah blah, and they'll trample on the First Amendment once again at the behest of govt.

The left should have never messed with Elon's son, one of the biggest mistakes in history, IMO. Elon is pissed about the LGBT mafia coming for his kid. Also the people trying to call this evil out were silenced and another reason Elon bought X to help bring all this to light. Regulation, Trump wants deregulation and so do they. Zuck has been hanging with the MMA bro's so he may have been red pilled a little, so I am taking the high road with Zuck and hoping for the best. JMO

He might be a lot of things, but stupid isn't one of them. He probably sees the destruction done by the Dem movement, and also understands that these DEI hires are a disaster 9/10 times, if not more.

This. OP’s answer is very simple, things have swung so far left that the policies are having a big enough impact on their business to want to make a change ie support the other side.

Because if you have ever been involved in training, discipline action, or firing a DEI candidate you know how crappy they are and how much liability your company has for having them on staff.

Imagine how zuckerberg feels. He gets 3.2 billion hits a day on his systems and he removes/hides any positive Trump news and promotes the bad. He hides any vestige of laptop news. Giddy with his new pals, he spends 400 million dollars in a handful of counties to get the admin in the oval office.

Then to his horror, his own state department works in collusion with the EU to start fining the shat out of them in Europe and forcing zuck to manipulate his own systems to their liking. In his own words "at least in the US you have some recourse legally".

Then, in the US the feds start attacking him with several agencies, including the Consumer Financial Protection, which he laughed at saying "we arent a bank what the heck do the want". And then start the antitrust rhetoric to split up his company.

Now imagine you have to sit with Trump, Musk, Stehpen Miller and admit to all the aforementioned, particularly the 400 million (which Stephen Miller assured Laura Ingraham on her show they had a "discussion" about it).

Sure its "sucking up to the govt" but I believe even he is looking outside the bubble and the entire world is tired of being manipulated by their governments, and the companies enabling them.

Rather than punish them, Trump can use them as a tool to promote his agenda, which is far far more productive.

This election opened a lot of eyeballs. You have to remember that a lot of people simply have never followed politics. They have never cared about politics.

I have a friend who I have known since HS - he is a multi multi multi millionaire. He has never given a single shite about politics. He never even really voted. He finally sat back and saw how crazy the world is getting especially for his 3 kids and he got involved.

He started attending $100,000 Trump dinner fundraisers (that’s how involved he dot during this election) - I think it’s similar to all of the other rich people
