Short trip and Never been to Memphis before. Looking for some good food. Lived in NOLA my whole life, so I am really looking for something that only a local can bring. I can pull off two lunches and two dinners. Thanks in advance

Lunch at BBQ Shop on Madison. Pulled Pork sandwich!

Lunch at Gus’s. Fried Chicken!

Huey’s is another solid lunch choice.

Uncle Lou’s fried chicken. Get the sweet and spicy love.. There’s a handful of good restaurants on Beale st, I just can’t remember the names

Cathrine and Mary’s or flight if stating downtown—both excellent. Flight is higher end

I used to love Hog and Hominy but haven’t been back since the fire

Cooper Young area is cool—Celtic Crossing is a good Irish pub

I really enjoyed Central BBQ last time we were up that way.

Skip Gus's, you can get that down here.

If you want to do a breakfast, Brother Juniper's right by University of Memphis's campus is really good.

Leonard’s BBQ and Uncle Lou’s Fried Chicken. Leonard’s has a buffet style lunch, if you leave hungry, that’s on you. Uncle Lou’s you just can’t go wrong. Met Penny Hardaway there.

A trip to Memphis without stopping @ the Rendezvous is a sin...

Bishop
Catherine and Mary
Central BBQ
Paynes BBQ
Andrew Michael

do not go to Charlie Vergo Rendezvous, worst ribs I've ever had. I think they cooked them way too fast.

What part of town are you staying in? Don’t want to send you downtown if you’re staying in Germantown or vice versa

I wouldn't go that far. I'm a Rendezvous fan, but there's so much good BBQ in Memphis that if you don't go to the most name brand place, it's not the end of the world.

Seconded.

Loflin Yard for a casual spot if the weather is agreeable.

Kinda like seeing the ducks at the Peabody, I can't imagine going to Memphis & not seeing the ducks. Also, I wouldn't go to Memphis without a stroll down Beale St, widely considered as the birthplace of rock 'n' roll and the home of the blues...
