the other thread asking for beer suggestions got me to thinking about crawfish season...

what is your favorite beer to drink while eating boiled crawfish?

My paw paw taught me on Dixie and Old Milwaukee (a long time ago)when I was about 9.

Now...nothing but Abita Amber out of the keg when possible.

Bud in a can.

It must be regular bud, and it must be a can. No compromise.

This is the one time when I am completely ok drinking bud/miller/coors. The spices are going to drown out whatever flavor the beer has. Bring on the ice cold stuff.

Whatever is being served cold on ice.

Beer snobbishness is really out of place, bordering on silly, at a crawfish boil. I've actually run across it a few times at one, to realize this.

The good thing about crawfish boils, I suppose, is that I don't think I've ever been to one where it would ever be necessary to let this be known.

oh no, i drink and eat what is there. But if i bring something it's always bud in a can. I don't give 2 shits what someone else drinks, as long it's not all of my beer.

I could totally see going with a Harp or Smithwick's at a crawfish boil... mmmmm, Irish beer.
