You can play him anywhere from the 2-4. He's extremely versatile.

No you can't. He can't play SG. He's a future big. Zion should be a wing. They shouldn't play together unless one, or both, is shooting 6+ 3s a game.

Even if he did you draft best player available in the nba. Drafting for need is dumb af.

You would play Flagg or Zion at SG?

I’m not making any team building decisions based on Zion.

Build up his value and trade him to the highest bidder

Cooper can guard a lot of different positions and is a connective piece on offense. Zion guards wings and is primarily a point forward. Think of Cooper as Herb with more versatility and upside.

It’s not about positions though. The biggest complication is the spacing. Zion-Missi do not shoot any 3’s. Herb takes ~3.5 open C&S corner 3’s per game. Cooper is the same in that he’s taken ~3.5 3PA.

~7 3PA for 110+ minutes per game of future lineups would make winning pretty tough.

If we get Cooper, it would make a lot of sense to sell high on Herb.

The guy said Flagg can play 2-4. I said he can't, cause he can't play the 2 or SG. He's too slow and honestly going to be way too big. I never said he couldn't play with Zion (who probably won't be here anyway). I just said that one or both would need to shoot more 3s. You pretty much supported that point with your post..

Yeah I definitely don't see him as a 2 at all. Maybe he could guard some 2s but he is more of a 3-4, and he might even be a guy that can play small ball 5.

Early in the season he was not shooting the 3 well, not sure what it looks like now

I mean Durant came into the league sub 200lbs. They tried to play him at SG and he was not good. He took off when he was moved to the wing. As he's kind of filled out, he's looked at more as a 4 now. That's how players normally mature, is up as they grow. Flagg is going to get bigger and stronger. It would be a waste to having him try to check smaller, faster guards. Zion looked good in his return, but Edwards was eating him up. I'd imagine it'd be much worse watching Flagg trying to guard him..

Wrong. He routinely guards out to the perimeter and that includes wings and shooting guards. He has no issues there. He's a defensive savant for a reason. He plays like a oversized wing/guard with some post offense in there. He can handle the ball, un actions, facilitate, and create on ball offense on the perimeter as well as space and relocate offball. Again no issues at the 2. He's also shooting 51%/50%/86% in the last 5 games.

You sound like a guy who haven't watched him and making up stupid shite. He's 6'9 205. What he position he primarily plays is not yet known due to his versatility but I expect him to play 2-4 while he's developing especially when the wing position is generally interchangeable and you can fit him into a bunch of lineups.

Awesome. Name all of the top level 6'9+ guards in the league.

We can play all the "positionless" games you want. But when you are the 2nd biggest guy on the court, you are still considered a big. Slots still matter, as do positions. Teams are built in levels, even if it's murkier now.

Leave it bmark to create some arbitrary cut off line. The combination of auxiliary skillset tends to be rare in really tall guys so ofcourse it's not going to be common to see. But you've seen it with Wagner and even Ben Simmons before his back injury. Our very own Trey Murphys floats from 2-4 depending on the lineup. There's plenty of examples of oversized wings playing at the two. But you seem think that 1 inch is going to make a difference when in reality it's about ability and he has the ability to on both sides of the ball. Your reasoning is completely stupid.

Isn't that convenient. He's too special to compare to others.

No same GM is going to take him, then say, I'm going to play him as a SG. Also, he's never going to be the 2nd smallest guy on the court for his team. They aren't play 3 7footers along with him. So it's a moot point.

What's wrong with him being a really great big, that has versatility? Why would he have to play multiple roles, instead of just dominating one?

Again, you seem be stuck in the SG position when all I said from the start was that he can play any of the 2-4 positions and play it well, will likely play them all early on while he develops, and has the versatility to be in a lot of different lineups.

Your argument gets dumber with each post.

That's what we are debating about... you see, I didn't cuss or call you a name. That's a mature response.

That means full time. By your statement (above), you believe he can be a full time SG, "and play it well". I don't know how you walk it back and say it again in the same sentence.

and has the versatility to be in a lot of different lineups.

The whole point of the OP, is where do you play him. That's what he's asking and why he spoke about Zion specifically. How would they fit together? Especially when you factor in our other players.

It's a valid question and concern. I don't think Zion would still be here, but if he is I don't know what the lineup would be. Starting Flagg or Murphy at SG doesn't seem like a good solution though..

It's pretty simple. You just cant comprehend what I said ovwr abd over again. I'll say it again one last time and be done with it. Cooper has the versatility to play 2-4 and for some reason, you think that I am saying that he will he drafted to play the 2 exclusively or primarily. I'm not.
