Tylen Singleton…can he play safety?

He’s faster than every other LB on campus (including Perkins). Yeah he’s big, but Isaiah Simmons was at Clemson as well.
Singleton actually caught up to Zavion Thomas this year on a kickoff return.
We need safeties a lot more than we do LBs. With Devon Keys emerging as a young star LB, Singleton might be better suited to play safety at LSU.
And having a safety that tackles like a LB can’t be a bad thing for this defense.

Sounds we're going see hybrid linebackers / STARs instead of safeties next year. Four stud athletes just wreaking havoc instead assigning a traditional position.

He appears to have the straight line speed to do it, so I guess the question would be if he has the hip mobility and ability to change direction needed for the position.

I think him and Ross both move... either star or safety... but yeah, its going that way... safeties have to be bigger to take on the RBs of todays game...

I believe him & Charles Ross will work as backups to Perk this year at star. They don't have the size that is needed for Mike or Will in the SEC at the moment. That's why we saw Davhon Keys get playing time immediately because he was 230 as a true freshman. I know he's going to be raw because of his age, but I could see Zach Weeks get looks early with the added weight that he carries around in comparison to the other freshman LB's.

Looked to be big and fast at the bowl game. I would like to see him at LB.
