TGL golf is a bigger threat to PGA tour than LIV

This is very entertaining and it’s not even a close match so far
I think the thing they have going for them is they didn’t try to make it “real” golf
This is going to grow just as more and more people have simulators

If, big if, they could build these facilities at all the team locations and travel home and away it could get big

I don’t think the goal for this needs to be big home and away crowds. I kinda like one arena for this.
I think you’ll have a hard time building city allegiances for this when none of those players live in the city they’re playing for and probably don’t spend much time in them. Rory plays for Boston but lives in Florida and travels weekly to play on tour.

This has been pretty meh, all the tech is cool, especially the green changing contour. However I don’t see how this will ever overtake traditional golf.

Be serious . Traditional Golf is horrible at times . This is way faster and better

Not saying it will overtake “real” golf
But I do believe ratings and interest will be more than LIV
And it won’t compete with majors, but give it time and it may over take some regular tourneys

The ratings for tonight probably tanked after the first ten minutes. This is worse than watching professional bowling.

This is like watching F1 drivers play on the race cars at an arcade.
Yet you comment for him to be serious?!
Anyone who thinks this is a threat to traditional golf has lost their minds. This won’t even compete with traditional golf. This appeals to the YouTube content crowd.

Winter? Give me this 100% of the time

Ok?
No one who watches PGA Tour events on weekends is going to quit watching that for this. No one. That’s all I am saying.
It’s not a threat to traditional golf. One is a sport and the other is a “fun thing.” They don’t compete against each other.

I agree completely. Which is why this might work
Golf doesn’t have a big enough crown to fraction off and be successful, which is why LIv will never work in this country
The very reason this could potentially be successful is it isn’t going after that crowd

What it needs:
1. gambling - get FanDuel, Barstool, etc.. involved
2. Ring Girls / Cheerleaders - Just some way to get hot girls holding hole cards or something.
3. Let people at home play the hole on their own simulators while its going on with GS Pro or other software, ie.. have the course available to download day of.
4. Tweaks to the game play which will happen.

Why would they build more arenas unless they think they can monetize it with general public?
Only 1 group of people could use it at a time and it would be very expensive to rent
