Recommendations?

Currently Marriott Titanium, but with new work travel, not as quality Marriott properties and/or sold out constantly.

Hyatt is a possibility from a convenience standpoint
Hilton is a second option.

I used to be Hilton Plat or whatever back in the day prior to Marriott. Don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a Hyatt.

Thoughts, Recommendations?

Hyatt properties don’t require as many points as Hilton and Marriott if you will be using points for personal stays.

Are you talking about changing continents, or being sent to places domestically that the Marriott property tops out at a Townplace Suites?

As a Titanium you should get guaranteed availability, worst case it's rack rate (but work is paying anyway.)

Think I automatically get Gold status with Hilton through my Amex, so just weighing the options.

Have to book through company portal, so doesn’t show guaranteed availability.

I mean, there are options like Townplace and the likes, but they are all shitty. Places like AC, Marriott, or even Courtyard are continuously sold out.

I hear you about the portals. Usually when I ran into a lack of availability, I'd just go direct to Marriott.com . The available rate may have been $11 a night more than what wasn't available, so I would take the risk, although it didn't happen often. I never got flagged by accounting at two large joints. I'm also the guy that didn't want to stay at the same hotel as any coworkers anyway, so if I had to drive an extra 15m to get to the client (or a couple of extra subway stops), I'd do it.

Hilton Plat

If you had status before, they'll probably status match you now, and there may be some benefit to extending your tenure from before.

Not that IHG has a great presence in the non shitty category outside of major cities, but it's a possibility too.

I’ve got nearly 800k points with Marriott, so whatever I do is going to be a once in a blue moon, as I”m going to try to continue banking there.

Just had never stayed at a Hyatt and there is one right next to one of our offices, which is why I threw that one out there.

The Hilton was because of old status.

Much better points value redemption with Hyatt rewards chart. You can routinely get $1000 hotel rooms for 40,000 points or less. Category 1 properties are 3500 points off peak.

Hilton worked well for me. They have a bunch of chains. In smaller towns there are Hampton inns. Wherever I was going they usually had something there. I would use my points in foreign city hiltons. It's been a while but points get you less and less each year. It mainly depends on where your job takes you.

Hyatt has better properties IMO. Easier to get to free stays as well.

What this guy said. Hyatt has some really nice properties. Plus their Globalist benefits are pretty good as well.
