It’s a political stall tactic. What he’s actually doing is suspending Canadian Parliament until March 24th. This prevents other parties from calling for an election while giving the ruling Liberal Party time to choose a new leader. He’s still very much in power.

Both of these answers are correct.
Also, his approval rating is atrocious to the point that it's hilarious, Canada's GDP is warm shite, and there are rumors aplenty of Trudeau being involved in some salacious activities along with some big names that are falling dominoes right now.
As for all the talk of "absorbing Canada" into the US, I don't like it. A better solution is to give Canada coastal California, Oregon and Washington, and also Minnesota and a few pieces of blue New England in exchange for everything West of Ontario with the exception of southwestern BC. I'd love to be able to drive to Alaska and stay on US soil the whole trip... and not pay $9/liter for gas along the way, eh?

Think about the pettiness involved in being the leader of your country, and being so small minded you seize the money and valuables of your countrymen because they DISAGREE with you. And the buffoon we have in the USA was far worse. Now imagine having voted for these idiots and STILL not being able to see your own error.
