Trump appoints Morgan Ortagus — but he’s not happy about it.

The president-elect said Friday that he would appoint Ortagus, who was the public face of the State Department for three years in his first administration, to be deputy special presidential envoy for Middle East peace.
Trump noted in a post on social media that “early on Morgan fought me for three years, but hopefully has learned her lesson.”
In a note that might not instill a lot of confidence in his pick, Trump also wrote that “these things usually don’t work out, but she has strong Republican support, and I’m not doing this for me, I’m doing it for them. Let’s see what happens.”

She’s Jewish and hugely pro Israel. I watched her on Fox News after the October terrorist attacks say that “we”…”we” meaning Israelis…would fight to the end. She was quite angry. And justifiably so, I can’t fault her for feeling so. I don’t, however, see how effective she could be as Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for Middle East Peace. She was also very deferential to Pentagon and State Department goons and provocateurs. She’s also a 100% Pompeo stooge. Basically she’s a more charming Katie Britt.
This seems like a bone for the pro war, pro Israel faction and it seems like they’re counting on Ortagus to have the ear of Trump and for her to try to work her charms on him. She looks good and she is charmful. I also expect her to be a conduit for unseemly creatures in the Pentagon, State Dept, security agencies. I expect her to feed them inside information as a plant. It seems like Trump knows what she is, though.
Two other things about her that I don’t like: she bashed Rittenhouse often, early and even after his not guilty verdict, specifically saying “he’s no hero” and “he’s a vigilante.” Secondly, she carpetbagged to a Nashville district bro try to get into Congress but was disqualified from the ballot because she had just moved there.
