They're so similar....

Notre Dame is great in the trenches....

But Penn State has a great D-line too.

Penn State has the better QB....so have to go with them.

Abdul Carter's status may determine this.

I think Penn State wins this one. Their offense has gradually improved the last few games. And the defense is stout.

Notre Dame’s offense is not all that.

I was leaning ND, but now I'm starting to think Penn St matches up pretty well against them.

Just not a playoff game I wanted, but I understand you have to take the good with the bad. I am all for the playoffs and actually want the playoffs expanded. 16 is the number and no reason why we can’t get there. D3 and D2 have been doing it forever. This has been the first season in a long time with no dominate few teams and I do enjoy parity. Full disclosure not a fan of Penn St. or Notre Lame. Yes, Franklin has struggled forever to win the big one and Freeman is not a better coach than BK. They though have done what is required and deserve to be where they are at.

ETA: Not a game I would bet on and wouldn’t pick either team due to them being a mirror image of each other.

It will be a rockfight, but exciting in that two massive programs/fan bases are one step from a championship.

I think ND is a little better overall on D, but Allar and PSU's talent is a little better than ND's offense. Jeremiyah Love may make me eat those words. What is his status?

17-10, PSU wins.

I agree and this is why I like the playoffs. I like that the teams that never got a shot are now getting it. SMU, Arizona State, Boise State, etc. I believe the underdog should always be given a shot and they are now given that shot with the playoff.

Concerning Jerimayah Love’s status for the PSU semi-final:

“I asked Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love about his injured knee after the Sugar Bowl,” Tyler Horka of On3’s BWI said via X. “He said he tweaked it like he did at USC. Love seemed to recover well after that but he has less time to do so now. Still, asked if he’ll be good for the Orange Bowl, he gave a confident nod. Yes.”

Is Carter playing?

Does ND have anyone that can cover Warren?

Penn State has a better running game and QB than UGA.

I like Penn State n this one. 21-17.
