They have a decent 5 game mini plan going on right now. 5 Saturday games(Vandy, Ole Miss, Texas, Florida and A&M) for 116 in the 200 sections or 58 in the 300 sections.

LSU plays men’s basketball? I thought it closed down when Wade left?

Another Wade ball gargler that doesn’t support the team. It’s 2025 so Happy GFYM.

LSU has 13 Q1 games, 4 Q2 games, and 1 Q3 game left, all SEC games. winning 7 would mean at least 2 Q1 wins as currently ranked and may very well get LSU in though it would probably be a stretch.
At 11-2 LSU would have the following record and minimum Q1 wins
With 7 wins, LSU would be 18-13 with at least 2 Q1 wins as currently ranked.
With 8 wins, LSU would be 19-12 with at least 3 Q1 wins as currently ranked.
With 9 wins, LSU would be 20-11 with at least 4 Q1 wins as currently ranked.
With 10 wins, LSU would be 21-10 with at least 5 Q1 wins as currently ranked.
Here is the LSU schedule and current Q rating of each game for LSU
Jan-4 - Q2 game - vs Vanderbilt
Jan-7 - Q1 game - @ Missouri
Jan-11 - Q2 game - vs Ole Miss
Jan-14 - Q1 game - @ Arkansas
Jan-18 - Q1 game - @ Texas A&M
Jan-25 - Q1 game - @ Alabama
Jan-29 - Q1 game - vs Auburn
Feb-1 - Q2 game - vs Texas
Feb-5 - Q1 game - @ Georgia
Feb-8 - Q2 game - vs Ole Miss
Feb-12 - Q1 game - @ Arkansas
Feb-15 - Q1 game - @ Oklahoma
Feb-18 - Q3 game - vs South Carolina
Feb-22 - Q1 game - vs Florida
Feb-25 - Q1 game - vs Tennessee
Mar-1 - Q1 game - @ Mississippi St.
Mar-4 - Q1 game - @ Kentucky
Mar-8 - Q1 game - vs Texas A&M
I'm an old man and my work is always suspect, so feel free to give me feedback on corrections needed.

IMO:
7 wins is the absolute minimum for LSU to even be in the conversation for a NCAAT bid. Even then, I would say the chances of them getting in with 7 wins are less than 50%. That could change if UCF and Kanas St perform well in the Big 12. But right now LSU doesn't have the OOC wins/SOS to overcome only 7 SEC wins...even though the conference is incredibly strong.
8 wins likely gives LSU 55% - 65% chance of getting in. Last season Miss. St. got in with only 8 SEC wins. The conference was not quite as strong last year as it appears to be this year (which would help LSU's argument). However, MSU had two OOC wins over tournament teams (Northwestern and Washington St.). Again, LSU doesn't look to have that right this second (though UCF could continue to improve).
9 wins doesn't 100% guarantee a tournament spot (anything can happen), but it would be a very difficult argument to keep a 9 win LSU team out. Obviously a 9 win LSU team wasn't even in the conversation last year, but two things are different: (1) LSU performed better in the OOC portion of the schedule this year and (2) the SEC appears to be much stronger than last year. 9 wins starts to get LSU into "lock" territory.
10 wins means LSU is in barring something incredibly unexpected. Likely as 7 seed or better.

That’s a ton of Q1 opportunities. Unbelievable how stacked the SEC all of a sudden is in basketball.

It's not really all that sudden. The SEC has been tied for the most teams in the NCAA Tournament in each of the last two years. The fact that all (now) 16 teams were so dominant in non-conf play is surprising, but the SEC has been improving in basketball for the last 7-8 years.

You’re right - problem is they ain’t winning 7 games with the current play they’ve demonstrated. The rest of your post is a pipe dream.

I support Mac, but 6 wins prolly the max for this team. Losing Reed didn't help. Let's beat Vandy.

What reason do we have for being “McMen”??? What has he shown to give us any reason to put faith in him? Nothing is the answer…this team wins 5 SEC games max and he’s likely on the way out very soon

This is year 3. They were 9-9 in the SEC in year 2, recovering the program from the ash heap it was. They have 3 solid freshmen and a RS Freshman debuting this year. Incredibly players building the program.

And we were in the NIT…now what will the excuse be this year when we are 5-13 or worse
Posted on 1/3/25 at 8:14 pm to JohnDooley
Excuse? Who is giving excuses. The team is fun to watch and improving year to year.
Posted on 1/3/25 at 8:17 pm to mmcgrath
Plenty of excuses from the McMen have been given. The team has not been fun to watch under McMahon, once again not improving year to year as we are going to finish with a worse record than last year by far. It’s the reality that yall refuse to accept, in this era it’s doesn’t take 4 or 5 years to be good. A great coach can get u back to being relevant almost immediately
