Bringing the family to Houston for the game. Anyone know of anything going on in the city that would be worth looking at doing?

I think MS13 is having a get together. May be invite only but wouldn't hurt to stop by and check.

Tren de aragua is having a recruiting fair in Sunnyside at Del Ray apartments - free food, drinks, bounce houses for kids and free fireworks/gun fire starting at dark. It’s gonna be lit.

Try a bing search for family friendly events. Lots of things going on we don’t have kids so I wouldn’t know.

Kemah fireworks.
Galveston if you're brave enough to challenge the I-45 death march.
If you stay in Houston, stay downtown (Discovery Green)....I'd venture to Kemah, personally, with a family.
Galveston is cool, too, but it's a hike.

I live in League City. I-45 has been under construction/widening for years and there are accidents constantly between League City and Galveston.

If you do venture to Galveston, please take 146 south instead of 45. It'll take extra time, but you have a lot less of a chance of being involved in (or held up by) an accident on 45.

NASA does too but that’s a bit of a drive - see 45 traffic post.

Wind gonna shift in the early am. Should be chilly out in the morning but nice. We will be in 107. Probably have breakfast at snooze am. That places always makes me have to take shite after. So I should be fine rest of the day.

Stay for the game whole game, take them up to the club level after halftime (they usually blow off checking tickets in the 3rd quarter) and they can run around in the large atrium and Truth bar b q is actually worth a meal.

Blow off NYE night as it mostly adult oriented unless you want a haul out to the suburbs, but there are plenty of kids friendly restaurant's in West University up Kirby from the stadium. If you aren't leaving NY day, hit the Children's Museum and Museum of Nat Science. Both are outstanding and something unique. Both are on the Metro Rail line as is NRG Stadium but parking is easy at both. If you need to get on the road NY day, it is still worth a few hours before heading out.

Almeda Genoa resident, I can vouch for this. Usually its a shoot out, celebratory, or chasing away coyotes.
