To make sure I understand this correctly, is he referencing people who come on legitimate student visas and desire to remain in the country/part of our economy upon graduation?
I'd imagine he's not talking about illegals who go to school once here and then desire to stay.

My thoughts are that I am fine with legal immigration. If this falls under that, then cool.
That being said, colleges like UCLA, USC, etc are full of Asians only here for school. They aren't going to stay as their family is usually wealthy and only sends their kids here for school then makes them come back home to help the family.
We should stop educating other countrys children and then allowing them to take that knowledge back with them. Especially those from China.

I would like to have more context on the issue for myself before I make a hard line decision on the issue relative to my support or lack of but if a person comes to the US on a student visa to study at our universities, a process that requires them to produce tax records, proof of funds, test scores, transcripts, 2 forms of identification, a financial form I-20, etc. and then desires upon graduation to be part of our economy and work here indefinitely, wouldn't that be exactly the type of people we want to accept through our immigration policy? Productive members of society?
