For a couple of months, I've had pain under my left side rib cage (at the bottom). If I push a spot on the lowest rib on that side, a burning substantial pain arises. Had X-rays - nothing broken, lungs ok, heart ok. I do have a small artery on the left side that is 100% blocked.

I went to doctor today, who recommended a cat scan. It is hopefully going to be set for tomorrow (insurance company being difficult).

I have a high pain tolerance and threshold, but tonight it is really kicking up tonight. Anyone have any experiences with this type of issue? If the paint went into my back or flank, I'd think kidney stone.

It’s definitely a cat.

I had this last week and the pain is under the sternum, not the left rib cage.

And the gallstones produce pain under the lower right rib cage that radiates through to the back.

A shot of morphine was like a shot of water.

I thought of that but the ribs are so to the touch (and getting more so) and I don't have any digestive issues. If I touch the left bottom of my rib cage (at my side), it kicks up quite a bit of paiin.

My cardiologist. It is a small peripheral artery and they are trying to work circulation around it.

All the scans were negative for blood clots as well?

Well stop pushing on it and it won't hurt. That will be $350 for the consult please

I had pluerisy (sp) once and was miserable. Sounds similar to what you have

Pleurisy is often broader based chest pain, usually worse with breathing, sneezing, or coughing, but it can also cause sharp, localized pain. Chest X-ray may not show it.

Not a doctor; just know someone who had pleurisy, and I did some Googling on it.

Nope. Was in the hospital 23 days earlier this year for it and that’s not where it hurts

i've had an intercostal muscle strain that produced a great deal of pain in my ribs...one time following a car accident, and one time after a bad bout of the flu with uncontrollable coughing...
