Kirk Cousins' divorce from the Falcons is expected to be finalized before his $10 million roster bonus is due March 17, with executives across the league fully expecting Atlanta to have to release him by then.

Well that’s an interesting turn of events. Hopefully it tanks them.

It won't tank them financially because his replacement is there and cheap. But it WILL prevent them from benefitting from the cheap rookie deal.

Unfortunately if we drop Carr we will be in the same boat. With the rest of the contracts we have it will likely be worse for us…

Carr isn't going anywhere he's productive when he's healthy and the line blocks.

Investing in him then drafting his replacement in the first round was a very strange scenario.

It's a lateral move at best, but kirk is 36 vs Carr 33.

Everyone seems to be thinking penix is gonna be good before he plays in 1 contested game. One of the best qb prospects ins few years is struggling in Chicago. Call me crazy, but I'm not sold on penix is the savior

I have no idea if he’s going to be good nor did I say he would be. But he’s 110% the replacement for a few years so they will be ok money wise.

Cutting 100 million guaranteed contract after one year?

Talk about one of the all time blunders by their gm. Yea forgot he was a Loomis disciple.

I can tell you don’t watch football. Falcons have had a better line, te, receivers, really everything, and Cousins fell flat on his face.

I can tell you are the Know-it-all in your little office at work. You probably have 47 keys on a chain.

Cousins is better than Carr. Everybody but you can see that.

Give me the 33 year old Carr instead of the 36 year old Cutless.

Cousins had 8 games this year with a qb rating of less than 80.

Carr had one such game, against the Eagles when our whole interior line was out and got pressure up the middle every snap.

And this is with Cousins having all of his weapons the whole year and his line relatively healthy.
