We are going in March for spring break. Wife wants to do a vrbo with a pool pass to resorts, preferably the Mauna beach area. Our 12 yr old will be going with us. Any recommendations?

There are plenty of condos on there in that area that will have passes to the hotel in the area that you stay. Usually the description will tell you if one is included. Do know that all beaches are public in Hawaii. The Mauna Kea resort has parking available it only a limited number of spots, so you have to get there super early.

My suggestion is that you call the individual hotels rather than rely on a vrbo or airbnb ad. There aren't that many hotels...Westin, Fairmont and Auberge.
Also, I wouldn't rule out the Waikoloa area...Hilton and Marriott.

You can also use resort pass website. You can book all different types of passes , from resort access all the way to day rooms. Our condo this upcoming trip wasn’t available to rent the the day we leave. So we booked a day room a few miles from our condo to go hang out and relax the last day we are there. Day room lasts from 9-5. Will allow us to do beach, pool and get cleaned up before flying home that night. Nothing worse than being homeless the last day there.

The Hilton Waikoloa is very large and spread out but I highly recommend it with a 12 year old. My wife and I have been there twice. Once with kids and once without. We would go back either way even though VRBO properties are the first thing we look at anywhere else.

Mauna Lani or Mauna Kea? Think Mauna New is still being remodeled.
