I spend a good chunk of time in Mobile. While it has some problems, it is a nice town that is underrated

What's good for Mobile is good for South MS. But that new bridge won't be built in my lifetime and I'm 50yrs old.

NOLA has so much untapped potential. Borderline impressive how they cannot get out of their own way.

An international airport is pretty legit.
It’s kinda aggravating BR never got one. I know NO is right there but it would be nice to just drive in the same city and go to the airport instead of an hour to NO to fly

I think the only way the bridge will be built. Unfortunately will be from a hurricane.
I remember they built the ocean springs bridge after katrina. And after hurricane ivan, they built a new bridge in pensacola.

Mobile is a great town with so much potential. You’re close to New Orleans. Have access to all MS Gulf Coast casinos. And access to Florida panhandle’s beautiful beaches.

That's interesting... I was in Mobile about a month ago, the downtown area looked dead as shite...
However, it's amazing how much NO and Mobile are very similar to one and other, and have so much in common.

Mobile has done well. For years, Bham was way ahead, but not any more. Huntsville and Mobile/Baldwin County are the economic engines of Alabama. Amazing what a little Republican leadership can do.

$3.5B for the bridge now. It will be at least 5 by the tie it is finished. BUT! At least they've started. By the time we start, it will be in the $5B range as a preliminary cost estimate.

Looks like all government project except for 2? What am I missing here?

The bridge cost is for a bridge over the river and the bridge over Mobile Bay. It’s a big project. It would be like rebuilding and widening the I-10 bonnet carre bridge while also building a new Mississippi River bridge at the end of it.
