Damn. I hope that hasn't spread to the liver. Went thru it with my Dad and it was miserable.

He seems like a really good dude, prayers for the man.

I’m sure he still has some follow ups to do, but it sounds like he is through the worst of it.

quote:

"I am a cancer survivor," Moss said. "Some trying times, but we made it through."

"Yes, it's going to be a tough road with some chemo and radiation, but like I said, man, I'm good," Moss said.

Bile duct cancer is basically pancreatic cancer.

Very poor prognosis.

notorious for quitting on team, quitting during the middle of plays, locker room cancer, very much a diva, all of that's behind him, all the best to him and his family

You must be confusing him with another player. He's quite accomplished.

From the description, sounds almost identical to cancer I had. Cancer of small intestine, but basically same exact location. Just pure luck found by basic blood work and my liver function was elevated. Further test found tumor starting to block bile duct. Had whipple, which is no joke, then chemo. That was 14 yrs ag January. Prayers to him

He had great potential? He’s a first ballot hall of famer, a consensus top 5 WR of all time, and the most lethal outside receiver to ever strap it up. I think he lived up to his potential.

Good news is that they typically don't do a Whipple procedure if the cancer is advanced. Bad news is the five year survival rate is pretty dismal even if they catch it early.

Cancers in that area of the body are hard to see on imaging and don't have any symptoms until they're well established. Source; one of my best friends died of pancreatic cancer. First symptom was back pain, in March. Went to the Dr in April, he was gone by early August.

OTOH a neighbor of my parents is still hanging in there after a couple of years, so it does happen.
