2 years of eligibility, not a lot of wear and tear. Big name recruit coming out of high school. LSU probably doesn't need more in the RB-room, and I doubt we have any real look at him, wonder where he goes
[EDIT: Can admin/mod move to LSU Recruiting? Wrong board on the rant. Thank you]

I would be happy if Kaleb Jackson would up his game and get more carries

He looked lost at the beginning of the year. Then Durham took off and he rarely had any opportunities afterwards.

We are aware…but he’s still a great talent and he’s has potential. He deserved more touches than he got

Jackson deserved more carries? Based on what? His hs tapes? What he did the year before? This year he hadn't done jackshyt, had no vision, continuously gained 2 yards and went down. You deserve more carries when you earn more carries. Especially when there were other layers who actually produced. I think I remember exactly 1 run where he saw daylight, ran to it and gained some good yards.

If Kaleb leaves, we'll need to add a RB. Also, unless I'm out of the loop, there has never been anything definitive about John Emery's future plans. If either of these two come back, I think the RB is way down on the priority list for now. That's without including Trey Holly.
I would imagine we're taking a wait and see approach with RB.

Wut?
Wut?

LSU definitely needs more at running back. Besides Durham, there’s nothing experience wise except Jackson and he absolutely old not get it done this year. Need a guy with a couple of years in him in my opinion just to bring leadership.

I'm honestly surprised Jackson is still here. With the way most players act, the fact that he wasn't getting playing time this season I figured he'd be gone as soon as the portal opened. I'd love to see him stick around and become the player we all hope he will be.

I think all he’s saying is he’s a talent and we shouldn’t get rid of him.

Durham
Jackson
Johnson
Harlem Berry
JT Lindsey
It's not a high position of need going into transfer portal season is what I was driving at

I had him going into the portal myself. As far as a couple of posters saying he deserved more touches/PT, I disagree with that. I THINK his "field vision" is not very good, and I KNOW he can't cut. He is faster than average and sometimes runs over tacklers but moves only in a straight line. For those with a few years on them, he is a faster version of Larry Czonka. Jackson isn't going to fake out anyone or run around them but yes, he can run through you. But as everyone on this board has said, LSU's OL wasn't good enough to open holes for RBs. In that scenario, Jackson is pretty worthless as a RB.

It wasn’t just that. Jackson’s lack of vision doesn’t line up well with a zone blocking scheme. I know the staff tried to work on adding more gap runs with pulling linemen in the offseason, but that didn’t go all that well early on. Most of that was shelved by game 3 and didn’t return until the last two games.
If we can upgrade the athleticism of the OL a bit, then Jackson could be more effective running these plays if he sticks around. Running him to a set hole out of the pistol would play to his strengths.

No, he said Jackson wasn't given the amount of carries than he received and that's utter bs. Based on how he performed he deserved fewer. Jackson was a drive killer.

Someone mentioned earlier about Dellinger and Frazier hardly being the greatest pulling guards and I agree with that...and you. We agree on his lack of field vision also. I don't disagree with you about Jackson being much more useful with a hole but really a bunch of RBs could look awesome with holes at the LOS. I don't remember how "quick" he is...he is definitely fast and powerful once he gets going. Those are his strengths.

Nah Jackson I’ll figure it out

Kaleb struggled when he didn't have a giant hole to run through. Once he got going his momentum was hard to stop and he had a few open field moves that were nice. But he struggled finding that initial path

Who is johnson? I'm drawing a blank
