I wouldn't want to interrupt anyone who stumbled upon a Redpill and may be on a path of truth finding and completely block them out.
But I've noticed that alot of times these people, let's call them LLMers (left left me) come in to right wing circles and immediately want to be the thought leaders, and poison the well with many of their other beliefs they still cling to.
They have not made it to the point in their journey yet, where they realized it was their entire idealogy and worldview that created the circumstances they are now opposed to. They may have found common ground on one or two topics with our side, but they still naively believe the rest of their views are perfectly fine and maybe they can introduce some of their other ideas to their new audience.
With that said, if they are willing to shut their mouths about the 80 to 90% of shite they are wrong about, and work with us on the issues we agree with and help those causes, by all means. But they still should not be fully embraced until they have completely re-examined everything they have ever believed.

This was me several years ago, but I knew I was ready to make the switch after Clinton was the last centrist. However many “republicans” have fallen victim to extremeism in the past several years. We can’t let them take the party with them.
It is up to us.
It is up to us.

Did you though?
That’s the point.
When the shite hits the fan, will you revert back to your leftist ways?
The distrust of the Bill Maher types is not only wise, it is self preservation.

No offense, but you are perfect example of someone I am talking about. You don't understand why you were wrong. Trump is the "centrist" you are probably looking for. If anything Trump is a center left centrist. Yet you probably think him and his supporters are "far right". Clinton was no centrist.

Did you even read what he wrote?

Yeah, uh, you still have a long way to go before you are "us"...

give us some examples, policy examples. what recent policies have these republicans tried to implement that are too extreme?

As has been well documented here, I considered the candidates carefully and decided I could never vote for Harris. While I had issues with Trump’s treatment of the military, spreading conspiracy theories, and age, I ultimately voted for him.
So while I can deal with Trump, I disagree with where the extreme factions have taken the party.

Im not trying to be a dick at all, but what about anything that's happened in the last few months makes you thing that anyone on the right is going to be willing to concede any ground to anyone that still has liberal leanings?
No, if you're not completely on board, get off of the train and go back to the left. That's the message everyone should have.

1. Trump’s midnight pardons of 3 war criminals degraded trust among the military and our allies who count on us to uphold the law when times are tough.
2. Their immovable stance on abortion when 60% of the country favors access to at least very-early abortion.
3. Trump’s SECDEF pick wants to essentially remove women from the military, or at least make them second class citizens.
None of these have anything to do with true conservatism.

no one really cares about this.
Your other two points are valid, but this one isnt a bump in the road.

This goes for both sides of the spectrum. Every human being should be open minded enough to question the things that they have been conditioned to believe since birth. People need to realize that 90% of the things that they have been led to believe since birth are simply dumped into their subconscious brain without filter from previous generations who had the same thing done to them. Groupthink is the bane of humanity. Question everything.

With abortion being returned to the states, who cares about the hardliners in the GOP?

I trust Bill Maher’s views as he’s been steady for as long as he’s been on TV, for the most part. Bill Maher’s main flaw is his TDS. But otherwise, his views seem more center or center-left than leftist. When I look back on early 2000s, there wasn’t nearly as much difference between left and right as there is now, since the left lost their shite and went insane… we weren’t arguing basic human biology back then. He’s dead on about BLM, cancel culture and queers for Palestine, that kind of shite.
Modern “liberals” and conservatives might as well be from different planets. Maher even defends conservatives on abortion, despite being pro-choice, by acknowledging their perspective: “They’re not against women’s rights. They think it’s murder, and it kind of is. I’m just OK with it.” Abortion shouldn’t even be a political issue, it should be a moral issue tbh.

Chicken Little much?
These two are no where near the official stance of the incoming President or his staff.
Be better.

exactly. Maher is an entertainer, he's there to stimulate conservation and bring in viewers.
I have zero trust in entertainers/influencers.

That's it? So these are considered by you to be extremists points of view?
So radical.
Everyone has to compromise somewhere; it's a natural component of the political process.

Exactly. Abortion is a state issue now. Nobody cares. Sec def wants to remove women from the front lines. Good.
