Taking my son to his first home Saints game this weekend. He’s 17, we’re staying at Hilton Riverside. This will be his first trip to New Orleans in a decade and he isn’t a picky eater.

Open to any cuisine but would prefer it be within walking distance or short car ride and teenage friendly. Any great ideas I can borrow from y’all?

Mandina’s, or any notable/reputable location in French Quarter would be my recommendation…

Since you're staying at the Hilton, get some chargrilled oysters at Drago's in the hotel.

Mannings sports bar is right there and they have a mix of local food and typical sports bar food. Ernst cafe is right across the street and for seafood Grand Isle is even closer.

Mandina's is a solid option. New Orleans neighborhood restaurant. There's a parking lot if you drive or take the street car from Canal. Pefect place after the Saints game on Sunday. They have the Sunday menu which has more options. Food is always good.

Liuzzas on Bienville is a good casual spot with teens. Another classic NO neighborhood place where you can really get a feel for NO. Food is fine, not amazing. Park on the street a block or two away.

For a French Quarter experience, Bourbon House is always great. Fancy with great service but you can go casual as it's in the quarter. You get a taste of a real NO white table restaurant experience. There are options on the menu that won't break the bank. Or, you have Red Fish Grill which is about the same but feels a bit more casual to me.

Sadly, they did away with the full Sunday menu and the accompanying bread pudding that came with everything.

They have a few number of specials just like every other day. I think it's mostly just a rehash of the Saturday specials.

Still a good rec. for a father and his 17 year old son.

After the game go to the 3 to 5 pizza and wine happy hour at Domenica at the Roosevelt. He can have pizza and you can have wine. Other than that, the whole French Quarter is within walking distance.

Peche is very good. Be quicker if you were a crow…but it’s not that far.

For a 17 year old, Cafe Maspero is a good option or Mothers that are both within walking distance

Port O Call for a hamburger is a good option

Drago's is in the hotel

The food at Manning's is awful but it is a good place to drink and watch games, they have an outside watching area

Dave and Busters would be fun for a 17 year old but again the food is not good

For a 17 year old the waitress uniform at Walkons is a good option.

Like someone said, I would hit chargrilled oysters at Dragos, tacos at De Cartel, forbidden Pizza has some hype, and Seaworthy for a burger so seafood.

Brennan’s for breakfast is always good imo.

Lunch I’d probably do Dragos or Acme

Dinner: one of the steak places nearby. Desi Vegas, Chophouse, New place called Bon Ton Prime Rib I hear is real good.

Snack: lucky dog. They have one in casino of you want to stay away from bourbon.

Mandinas is great on a weekday. Lately I’ve noticed they aren’t as good on the weekends. I think they figure they won’t see the tourists again so they slack off.
