Tiger Stadium one of the top venues to play in, rabid fan base, unmatched nighttime games, top 3 in NFL alumni . Unfortunately cause NIL none of that means shite right now .

Alabama and Ole Miss have a lot of NIL money.
Coaching still matters.

Oh boy, here we go with the NIL cap.
Just once, I would like one of you to explain exactly how a cap on NIL would work that wouldn't result in a law suit that the athlete wins with 100% certainty.

We can compete in NIL if we actually had a functioning collective that markets well.
Austin Thomas was suppose to be here to fix it. Either he wasn’t aware of how and what ole miss was doing or he has people tying his hands up here because 1 year in and our collective is still clown level. Bad website, clunky donation type, horrendous marketing until chicken tried to help.
If we got things corrected we will compete just fine. Underwood being paid 3M before a snap is silly, I’d rather redirect funds and pay that to someone that has shown they can play at this level not some kid that plays in Michigan and looks good in 7 on 7s

Talent matters too, if not Saban would've stayed at MSU.

Sorry your son might not get 2mil for doing shite.

NIL is not being capped. It’s not even “capped” in the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. Any discussion of such is nonsense and not worth having 17 times a day

How much does the people calling for more NIL donate , not a damn cent.

There is ZERO chance this can happen. Do you think the NBA, MLB, NFL has caps on NIL/endorsements players can make?
How exactly do you think this would work?

Ok. It is starting to make sense now. You are just a complete moron. You are capable of throwing out magic solutions for everything, yet have no clue how any of it actually works. Carry on.

The “team” doesn’t spend anything on NIL. It can’t. NIL is generated by outside contracts with players. Any efforts to “cap” such would quickly be met with an antitrust lawsuit and struck down as illegal

NIL isn't getting capped without a CBA. A CBA isn't happening without the football programs breaking away from the colleges and "student athletes" label. The football programs are hesitant to break away because they will loose the boomers through millennials that actually care about the sport.

Let me give you their stock response.
"But NIL is pay for play. If you think these teams aren't paying them money then you don't know what you are talking about."

NIL isn't getting capped with a CBA either.
"Sorry LeBron, Nike can't pay you 200 million for your shoe endorsement. That would be too big of a hit against our NIL cap."

These threads are always started by the most simple minded people this board has to offer.

I prefer Div. 2 football now where a free education and playing a sport you love mean something , that name on the front the jersey means something .

Regulating NIL is not going to happen. The only regulatory approach that leagues and the NCAA can take to rein in the Wild West is to limit transfers. Bring back the sit-out, even if you allow one freebie transfer, and you will see a significant reduction in roster instability.
