Being 3-1 against the top 25 overcomes all that. SMU is 0-2 against top 25. It shows SMU can't beat quality opponents which they will be facing in the playoff.

Alabama is 3-1 vs. the top 25. Alabama has proven it can beat ranked opponents. SMU has proven it loses to every ranked opponent it plays.
