Can anyone remember similar actions taken by an outgoing president?

We know Hunter isn't the last pardon Biden's going to toss around. He's likely going to give them to multiple people in and/or involved with his administration. If you have nothing to hide you wouldn't need to pardon key members of your fricking admin or am I totally missing something?

Clinton pardoned some of his campaign domors

I hope he does more family and administration pardons so prove how out of touch the Dems are. That is going to kill any "Protect Democracy" argument Dems have. Biden will single-handedly kill the same party who appointed him mostly out of spite while protecting his arse. That's is what authoritarian dictators do.

Trump pardoned his daughter's father-in-law Charles Kushner. Definitely not the same but that and Clinton's half-brother's pardon have some parallels.
Note sure that any new administration and their key nominees have been as straightforward with stating retribution as a notable focus of their governance plan.
It think it's reasonable to say the Biden did not honor his word and it's a terrible look to pardon Hunter. It's also reasonable to say that Trump and Clinton also pardoned family members.

I don't think anything was as bad as the Obama administration working with the losing presidential candidate to fabricate the Russian collusion narrative in order to cripple the incoming Trump administration.

Clinton sold pardons. Literally.
I really don’t gaf if he pardoned his coke head son. He wasn’t going to see prison anyway.
