And remember as you eat your turkey today that Zion is somewhere cashing in his millions and putting extra gravy on his turkey!! Lol

I'm thankful for all the fans and posters on this site. We are all good people and deserve way way way better than what we're receiving right now.

Happy Thanksgiving. I honestly feel like this season’s struggles and Zion’s injuries and behavior has completely united 99% of the posters on this board. So I am thankful for that. I am also thankful for the possibility that we can potentially reset with players that all 100% want to be here vs constantly worrying about a “franchise player’s” availability and overall head space.

I honestly don't think you can fill an NBA-level roster of players that specifically want to be in New Orleans.
Obviously, you're going to have guys like Jose who are just thankful that they have squeezed out the last bit of juice to just make any roster, so there will be that sense of loyalty for the franchise. But like we're never going to attract big time free agents to come here.

Thankful because Zion will be coming up on a contract void soon…. Right?

That’s probably true.
But if you take Zion out of the equation. I don’t think Ingram minds being here. CJ requested to be here. Herb, Trey and Jose seem to really appreciate being here. Missi and Hawk probably are just happy to be in the league w a decent role. Brandon Boston Jr is probably thankful to even be on a team. I’m not sure what Dejounte thinks yet. His mother had a stroke preseason and he broke his hand. So I’d understand if he didn’t love it here yet.
But in my mind, the only true dark cloud on our team is Zion. Get rid of that, and it seems like we have a group that is mostly all in on each other and doesn’t hate playing on the Pelicans.
This is a bit off topic, but even with Morant’s off court issues, he seemed to really embrace being in Memphis. And when he’s injured, he’s typically on the bench being a leader to his team.
Zion’s a rare player in the league that hasn’t accomplished anything that thinks he deserves to play on a certain team/market. And when he’s hurt, he completely mentally and physically checks out. He literally will only show up to the arena if he has a friend on the other team. That is a toxic behavior/mindset that we just need to rid ourselves of.
Hell, as many times as AD was injured. Dude was at least always on the bench supporting his teammates.

There are far too many examples of excellent players who have thrived in smaller markets. Duncan and Giannis, for example. There’s no reason it can’t be done here. Heck, Paul was a star here. New Orleans may not ever be a top free agent destination, but that’s true of players like Toronto, Milwaukee, Cleveland, and San Antonio, and all win titles. It’s front office, coaching, and players.
