Projections:

1. Defense will once again be top 10, possibly top 5
2. LSU will win the West
3. Jordan Jefferson will show once again to any possible doubters that he is the QB of the future.
4. Russell Shepherd will be a huge asset next year and a great "change of pace" at WR
5. LSU will win a close game in the SEC title game over UF
6. Charles Scott will have a Monster season

Please add your projections or disagree. Curious how everyone feels LSU will be next year.

I would really like to see him redshirted, that way he is a full two years behind Jefferson.

Depends if Tebow comes back, but I think he will.

All those sound good, except if Tebow returns idk about beating them in ATL.

I agree that UF and Tebow will be good, but it's not like they're not unbeatable. I like LSU's chances.

Answers:

1. Defense was overrated and won't be close to a top five unit.

2. Hate to say it, but Bama wins again.

3. Jordan Jefferson will have a good year as an RP clone behind Andrew Hatch.

4. Did you see Russell Shepherd play? Nuff said.

5. See number 2.

6.Scott runs his arse off and wins the Heisman!

i hope all of our running backs will bust out next year. they struggled more this year then they should have. probably due to a struggling pass game. if we can get some solid QB play in the passing game out of one of our QBs next year im looking for our run game to annihilate people. we have the potential to both run around and over people i would love for this to happen.

i also think the D should make a recovery. the defensive state is probably mostly depending on chavis or miles to find someone to step up and be a leader of the defense. that is something that was missing all of last year.

and heres to a good basketball and baseball season to help pass the time waiting for september

With things more settled at QB, CS has a great year.

D will be back with a vengence and we're the story in 09

Agree

Maybe not because of our schedule but the West is wide open next year.

Couldn't agree more.

If by WR you meant QB I agree. He will come in at QB and play the RP or Hatch role for 2009 to take hits away from Jefferson. We need Jefferson to stay healthy.

Disagree completely. I think we might be able to take them at home. In the Dome I think they repeat as SEC Champs and possibly NC.

Won't be as good losing 2/3 interior linemen.

Top 5/top 10 would be awesome, and (imo) make us a favorite to win the SEC and National Championships. I'm anticipating (happily) about a top 15-20 defense.

I agree, but it will be close. With UF and UGA from the east, and traveling to Ole Miss, we will have almost no margin for error.

3. Jordan Jefferson will show once again to any possible doubters that he is the QB of the future.
That would be awesome. I'd be happy if any of our 3 QBs showed that he is a reliably competent SEC QB for more than 2 quarters at a time.

I'd think he be more "change of pace" at QB than at WR, but I have a strong suspicion we'll see him somewhere next season.

Close, big, OT, forfeit . . . any kind of win in that game would be awesome.

6. Charles Scott will have a Monster season
From your lips to God's ears . . . .

My other predictions are that Trindon finally breaks another kick for a TD, we will see Jarrett Lee taking meaninful snaps again, and the defense shuts out at least two SEC teams.

I thought he was a little over confident and looked small?

he did show some speed and Debose made a great catch on the TD throw.

Now the USC kid Barkley, looked ready to start ASAP.

Made Sheppard look terrible in the skills comp.

That being said, I look for him to come on once he gets on campus and Crowton gets him maturing.

i could see him lining up at wide reciever next year, but i highly doubt that he would play that primarily. he will probably be in the backfield most of the time.

JLSU you do understand that even though may not be matured as QB yet. He'll play a Harvin role/QB next year. It's not like he's only gonna play the QB posistion at LSU. He'll play all over the place next year.

Sheppard was a talking cliche' who couldn't hit the broad side of a billboard moving across the field directly in front of him with no distractions. A qb he is not!

BTW, what does he run in the 40? He didn't look all that fast either.

i thought both other qbs looked better than RS.... I am biased b/c i prefer a pocket passer qb than a scrambling one.. RS was the smallest player on the field during that game.. i just dont see him playing qb at LSU... he reminds me of a smaller Josh Reed. Obv he'll get bigger, how much I dont know.

Jarrett Lee will prove lots of knee-jerk armchair coaches very wrong.
