Joe Burrow - 5671 yards - 2019
Jayden Daniels - 3812 yards - 2023
Garret Nussmeier - 3458 yards - 2024

If he comes back Nussmeier could end up LSUs all time passing yards leader.

This thread is about single season passing leaders and the possibility Nuss becomes LSUs all time passing leader.

Still a lower passer rating than Max Johnson. Empty stats are still empty. The QBs that you're trying to compare Nuss to didn't have that deer in the headlights look that Nuss has had against top defenses.

This final regular season game will be a measuring stick for Nuss. OU's defense is solid and he could use a confidence booster headed into bowl season and next season.

If he stinks it up then most fans will be calling for LSU to move on from the Nuss bus.

True. Burrow was an absolute machine playing the QB position in 2019.

Exactly. These guys hyping him up for his passing yards as if he hasn’t thrown a ridiculous amount of passes. His passer rating tells the real story

This is Nuss’s first year as a starter. How did those other 2 do in their first year starting at LSU? Hopefully, he comes back next year and has a huge improvement from year 1 to year 2 as those other 2.

Offensively, next year could be a monster with a complementary running game.

Those 2 was improving as the season went along. Nuss on the other hand still over throws receivers and throws off his backfoot.Blackfoot. I expect next year to be the same from him, he might also get BK fired along the way

Yep, 4 losses in his first season starting at LSU. Nussmeier can still achieve that.

So you're saying the w/l record isn't all on the QB?

I agree.

JD looked like the same QB that started the 2022 season as he did against A&M in the last game of 2022. 0 passing and 0 rushing TDs and one of his lowest passer ratings with Auburn and Arkansas being the only games lower.

Yeah, those were some 1980s era BYU type numbers.

Only BYU played far lesser competition and threw on virtually every down.
