Visiting New York around Christmas

My wife and I are leaving for NYC in a few weeks. We have a list of things we want to do, but I'm just coming to the board for any advice/tips on places to see either Christmas related or just general NYC attractions. I've been to NYC before just not during Christmas, but she hasn't and she wants to try to get in the normal tourist attractions as well. We're going to be there 5 days so I know we can't see everything, but I'm curious to see what everyone's opinion is on things that we should make a priority.

We will be in NY again this year (we've been going most years for the last 5-6), and will be there from 12/20-12/24. We don't typically do the traditional tourist stuff, but as far as that goes there's obviously:
Rockefeller Plaza
Rockettes
Ice Skating in Central Park
Don't try to go to the Park Plaza, last year they were only allowing guests of the hotel in
Bryant Park
There are also a ton of bars that go heavy on the Christmas thing. Do some googling on that, they can be fun. Be prepared to book in advance for some of them.

There's tons of places to ice skate.
The one by Rockefeller is always crowded and it's not that big.
The one in Central Park is big and you typically don't have to wait too long.
There's another one on the southern end of Manhatten right across from the World Trade Center. It's less crowded than the other two. My 9 and 7 year old got to see two dudes making out at that rink. I was videoing it and my 9 years old face when he skated by and saw it is priceless.
And dress warm. The wind is always whipping around in NYC.

NYC during the Christmas holiday season can be magical. It’s usually cold, but doesn’t always snow. We were lucky the first two times we visited in December, we got snow. Do all of the stuff already suggested, plus a carriage ride in Central Park, buy some roasted chestnuts from a street vendor, check out the elaborate Christmas window displays at the famous stores, catch a Broadway show, etc.

Thanks for the tips! We have a lot of that stuff on the list. We also have tickets to go see The Book of Mormon show. The early forecast says it'll be in the 40s during the day and in the 30s at night, but no snow. I wasn't really expecting snow anyway. Thanks for the carriage ride suggestion in Central park. That sounds like a fun experience!

If the weather is nice, take the train (or other transport) to the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge and walk across to Manhattan. We've all seen the bridge on TV and movies a thousand times, so it's pretty cool to take it in up close, along with the great views of the city along the way.
I enjoyed New York in One Day Guided Sightseeing Tour. It gets you around Manhattan to see all the major spots, with a good guide and some stops along the way. You would run yourself ragged to cover all that ground on your own.
