I wouldn't say likely.
He supposedly has intrigued some decision makers in the nfl. His buyout is only 4 mil.

I dunno if he's an NFL caliber coach. Notre Dame has a habit of losing games to teams they are way better than. I think he has a lot of energy and he's a decent enough recruiter -- and if Notre Dame hadn't hired him to replace Kelly, he would have gotten scooped up by another marquee program and they would have really been screwed.

Denbrock doesn’t really come off as a guy that would even want to he a major college HC. They’d probably go big and try and keep him as OC especially if they went defense.

Freeman will get fired from ND before he’ll ever accept an offer from an NFL team. His track record isn’t convincing and he still has a lot to prove.

If it does, and they go internal, ND would most likely make Golden HC, and promote mickens to DC. The other internal HC candidate would be Deland McCullough.

Being real I’m not sure any of the 15 other SEC teams would even give him a genuine look as OC
He is who we thought he was coming in. He runs an archaic offense that - in the absence of the NFL Rookie of the Year improv-ing every other play because the playbook was so full of junk routes - will not keep up with the DCs on opposing sidelines
