It's probably been 20 years since I bought a pack of cards. Is there any Value to the normal cards. I know they have all these special cards nowadays

I would pay tens of cents for those cards.

There is if you find that 1-of-1 Paul Skenes card that's out there.

Nope, you want the 1:1 cards and/or autographed along with being PSA graded.

It’s only valuable if you get Skenes’ signed card. Then you get to hold hands for a game with Livy.

It would be fun to pick up a pack for nostalgia but they aren't worth shite.

I'm not a collector, but I have read the special cards are planted to influencers to drive interest.

I thought it would be a fun hobby to get my kids into. I collected them as a kid - probably about age 8-12. So I bought a few packs at Target and they opened them and they were like "Cool. How do we know what they're worth? How do we start collecting?"

So I went on the internet to find out and BOOM - I HAVE NO frickING IDEA HOW ANY OF IT WORKS!

So bottom line is this. Cards aren't like you remember them. There's a gajillion manufacturers out there now making all kinds of fricked up variants. If you haven't been collecting your whole life, then it's too late. You have no way to get into it now because it's a code you can't know. It's a club you can't be in.

You might get $2 a piece on Ebay for the Skenes, Holliday and Langford rookies. The others have minimal value.

This is true. A "breaker" or influencer typically pulls the BIG hits.

Just about everyone goes by Ebay value, which means what the cards actually sell for, not some ridiculous "Buy It Now" price a seller has it listed as.

There is an app that scans cards and tells you their value. I learned this from a buddy who collects/sells cards.

Says Paul's card is around $100 graded 10. I'm not bout to do all that. That's the biggest scam there is. Paying that company to grade cards.

The Langford is a parallel. Is it #’d?
