Speed Queend Washing Machine

My wife and I recently purchased a Speed Queen. We are having the problem with the suds bubbling back up the washing machine drain. It seems this is a common issue with Speed Queens. We changed to Persil as recommended and it still did it. I took the cap off my clean out and made sure the water was leaving the house and we have very good flow. Any suggestions??

If you are referring to bubbling from where the drain hose goes into the wall drain hole, then stuff rag or other material in the hole around the drain hose. This will keep the bubbles down.
Btw we have a speed queen washer and have a rag stuffed around the drain hose. We haven't changed soaps and do not have bubble issues.

What you have is a partially blocked pipe. You didn’t notice before if you had one of those machines that doesn’t use much water, But the Speed Queen fills the tub, and then sends that down the drain, exposing the partial clog.
When we got out Speed Queen we had to have the drain line snaked out. That took care of it.

It comes with a rubber piece that goes around the drain to seal it into the drain pipe so you don't have the issue. I think it was in the tub in a bag or something when I got mine. I also ended up increasing the size of my drain as the galvanized pipe was quite narrow on the inside with buildup. You can also put a slightly smaller diameter hose at the end of the drain hose to reduce the flow from the pump slightly. Will not hurt the pump.
Here's the part mine came with. Did you try this yet?

Side topic…
Has Speed Queen quality gone down in recent years? Maybe I got a bad one during Covid year.
We bought a dryer at ~4 years ago and have already had to repair 3 separate components.
They were under warranty still… but still disappointed. Maybe bad luck, but there’s no way I could ever recommend one.
Edit:
The repairs were in first two years. It’s been holding on ok since then.

Does the adapter go all the way down in the drain?

I don't think it goes down very far. Just creates a tighter seal. This pretty much solved my problem. I know in new construction homes they are now required to put a bigger diameter pipe for the washing machine drain.

Thanks for the information. I’ll update this evening.

I do not see anymore suds after putting the adapter on.
Thanks for the info.

Pay attention with different wash cycles. I used that rubber part and I still get backflow of bubbles using settings like bulky/sheets.

Update.
I still had bubbles and I called Speed Queen. They guy said he was very familiar with the problem. He said 9 times out of 10 the problem will be fixed by only using 1-2 tablespoons of HE detergent or changing the cycle to permanent press. He said the sud problem is caused by not enough water and most times people are using the ECO mode and it uses less water.
So far so good with permanent press mode.
