Anything worth for a 4 to 5 day trip during the thanksgiving break? I’d like to keep it within driving distance of NOLA. A cabin and hiking would be nice. Don’t want to do Gatlinburg but open to any suggestions.

What are y’all doing? Is there any development or is it straight hiking and nature?

We went to Broken Bow, OK over spring break and rented a really nice cabin. Plenty of hiking and other things to do in the area for families. Not a bad drive from BR area either

Florida panhandle beaches are awesome in November

There's a lot of cool shops, bars/restaurants. There's an orchard, wineries, some hiking/waterfalls if its not too cold. We rented a cabin so a lot of relaxing!

Hot Springs is a very cool town for a long weekend. You can hike the mountains on either side of the main drag through the cool part of town or take 30 minutes and go up to Lake Ouachita. Then you come back in the evening to the downtown historic district--lots of cool hotels, rooftop bars, live music, pubs, restaurants.

Blue Ridge is now wall to wall people. Traffic is terrible most of the time and worse on weekends and holidays.

We drove 5 hours to Branson on Saturday. Took the kids to Silver Dollar City all day Sunday and fortunate to get a 72 degree day in November with Xmas lights everywhere. It was 40 degrees the following morning and we went and ate lunch at the College of the Ozarks Restaurant then spent the rest of the afternoon at Top of the Rock and did the Golf cart Christmas light tour and Museum and had dinner at The Lodge. The museum is the most impressive collection of Native American artifacts I’ve probably ever seen. We all decided we wanted one more day in the mountains so we drive down to Eureka Springs, AR and stayed a night at The Crescent Hotel. It was built in 1886 and is famous for how haunted it is. Beautiful place and we had the best meal of the trip at a small Italian place called Ermilio’s just down the street. Horrible 6 drive home through the Ozarks yesterday but an incredible 4 night trip and still back home for Thanksgiving.

Hot Springs. Very cool cabins and mountain hikes. We did two different trails today and had thanksgiving dinner in between.
