Weird Playoff Scenario

I am not saying this would happen but talk about some extreme panic this would cause.
So say LSU wins their three remaining games. They win out. And all other teams that are the favorites in their SEC conference games also win. If only Arkansas beats Missouri, LSU would in fact be in the conference championship game playing against the winner of Texas and Texas A&M. How you ask. Well because the way the SEC has implemented their new tie breaker with no divisions goes by opponents win percentages. Because LSU did not play Missouri and did play Arkansas any team that played Missouri their percentages go down. Now if LSU wins the conference title game they would officially be one of the 4 teams that automatically gets a first round bye because they won their conference. At this point they would probably be ranked around 15ish. Talk about everyone losing their minds.
A SEC champion LSU with 3 losses and not ranked in the top 12 would be pure insanity and would make everyone in college football lose their minds.
Again not saying this will happen only that it could happen.

I’ve seen 3-4 diff scenarios. The one thing that has to happen is Georgia beating Tennessee ( or I guess maybe just Tennessee losing 1 more game).
I think your scenario is probably the most likely to happen of all. I also believe if bama loses to auburn or Ou that would work too instead of Arkansas over mizzouri.

Only hope at the moment. Just keep winning.

LSU is currently #22. I think they would be the 5th highest conference champion, so they may be a 12 seed

And switch Arkansas over Missouri. LSU versus Texas in the title game

If we win this weekend, Georgia beats Tennessee and South Carolina beats Mizzou.) All of these are favored to happen) We need one of the following to happen and we are in:
1. Arkansas beats Mizzou
2. Arkansas beats Texas
3. Bama loses to Auburn or Oklahoma
If these don’t happen we still are in if:
1. Texas A&M and Vandy BOTH win the last week.
2. If Mississippi State beats Mizzou we only need Arky over Mizzou OR Vandy over Tennessee.
If Auburn beats A&M they must then beat Texas the next week and we are in. If not, we are out

This would accelerate the end of conference championship games so I would be all for it.

If you are Bama, You are pulling for the AR over Mizzou scenario. That way you don't risk 3rd loss in SEC Championship game. We suck, Texas would destroy us, but the potential chaos would be fun.
But, as my gf (who knows very little about football pointed out)............you're assuming that POS team that I watched against Bama can win the rest of their games.

What’s the problem? LSU played a legit reasonable opponent OOC even if USC was down, and played 2 P4 OOC.
Bama played 1 in Wisconsin
Ole Miss played bad Wake Forest as onl P4 OOC
Aggie played 1 pseudo P4 in ND
Tennessee played an awful NC State
UGA plays two P4 teams.
Texas played 1 overrated Michigan and no other P5
If LSU ins 7-2 right now instead of 6-3 by playing only UCLA as a P5 and a rent a win to open instead of USC, are they really that much worse than the others?
Bama, Tennessee, and Ole Miss all lost to unranked SEC teams.
A&M got slaughtered by USCe whom LSU bat at USCe.
Texas has played one good SEC team to date in UGA and lost.
UGA has had one of the hardest SEC schedules in history.
In the end, if LSU wins out and makes and wins the SEC title game, they will have earned it objectively.

You are forgetting that LSU could just as easily be 4-5 instead of 6-3

We aren’t making the playoffs
And if by some miracle we did we would get blown out in Athens or Columbus

0% chance we’d play at either of those spots. We’d have a first round bye

It would actually be Texas vs Bama in this scenario.
Nah, i like OPs results more

The only playoff scenario is getting to Atlanta on a tiebreaker and winning the SECCG.
In that case, LSU would have a first round bye and host the 2nd round.

Yes, UGA beating Tennessee yields the easiest path for an LSU backdoor, since Tennessee has only Vanderbilt remaining.
If Tennessee beats UGA, then we would need a whole lot of help with Texas and Bama needing another loss and Tennessee would have to lose to Vamderbilt.
LSU wins out
UGA beats Tennessee
Bama wins out (and all other favorites win)
Arkansas beats Mizzou
LSU then plays winner of A&M-Texas in SEC title game.

We need South Carolina to beat Mizzou too
