Dyson has recorded 19 steals in his last 3 games .

And scored a career high 28 points tonight.

Kids looking like an absolute stud .

Good on him but man . Wish he was still a pel :(

Not to mention Nance had 19 points as well.

Plus no Trae tonight and they still beat the Celtics!!

He did this without Trae against healthy celtics on road.

Nance made 5 threes too with 19 points lol

Whats scary is what hes doing offensively. I had no idea he could do that. Still a long season though but if this continues hes much better than Herb and pels may have traded the wrong defender. And I love Herb.

Maybe it's Willie, only an idiot would think a guy you gave minimum minutes to only played excellent defense

I’d rather have Dyson than Murray, if I were the Hawks.
I’d rather have Murray than Dyson, as a Pel.
And Murray is still a better basketball player than Dyson but roster construction matters in the nba and Dyson is a really good fit next to Trae.

I agree with you mostly. But did we just try to make Dyson a 3/D guy where Atlanta is letting him grow a bit as a lead guard or more than a 3/D guy? To me thats on development and the coaching staff if thats the case. I mean Willie wouldn’t even play this guy in the playoffs against the Thunder.

It was shitty coaching all along. Dyson was always more capable than 3&D and he needed the ball a lot more.

Its crazy that Willie didn’t even put him in against the Thunder in the playoffs and kept trotting out Jose. Still mind boggling to me.

I just watched his highlights tonight and he looked so damn good. It hurts. I was one of the only few who said Dyson should have been untouchable after the DJM trade. But we wouldn’t have utilized him properly anyways.

You did. I give you credit on that. I had no idea he could do this. Its kind of mind blowing. But you’re also right he wouldn’t be utilized here correctly. We have a coaching problem.

We had other assets to give in order to keep Dyson, but Atlanta was never making the trade unless Dyson or Herb was involved to fit next to Trae.
It was a move that benefited both teams. I’ll still root for Dyson.

I love Herb, but if Herb had more value, it might have been wiser to trade him instead of Dyson.
I said it quite some time ago, but I think Dyson is a better 1 on 1 defender over Herb and Herb is a better overall defender, if that makes sense. Dysons size is underrated.

If I remember correctly they wanted Herb at last years deadline and we said no. Basically settled on Dyson in the offseason. The problem was its not just Dyson but we gave up a first and Nance. Nance I dont care for- even though hes played well. But Dejounte needs to play extremely well to match how Dyson is playing and giving up a first. Long season- lets see what happens.

Dyson as a rookie was trusted to guard a player on the last shot.

And did it.

The issue has always been offensively, what could he do? We relegate players here to be a 3&D role or nothing else because we have 3 main mouths to feed.

That's on coaching and roster construction.

So you have to ask could Trey, Hawkins and Herb be more?? Maybe time to get rid of Zion and BI. Let those guys grow instead of being shooters or just defenders.
