You're 18-25 - prime partying age - what era do you choose? 60s/70s/80s/90s?

1960's: Free love, psychedelics, introduction of weed. Ladies would give it up to "fight the man". America was still a safe place so you could roam the country without considerable risk. Hitchhiking was still a legitimate option. Music was getting good.
1970's: The obvious favorite. The golden age of rock. Stadium tours. Legal drinking age was 18. A more relaxed view of drugs in general. Disco fever.
1980's: Pros: Cocaine. Cons: AIDS. I was just a kid, but I could imagine the nightlife in big cities like Miami, L.A., Dallas, New Orleans, Nashville, was really, really fun.
1990's: Maybe a heavy underdog, but it was the height of the underground rave scene. From personal experience, I can tell you this was a great time & still relatively safe. The quality of drugs had come a long way in a few decades. This was the last of an era before 9/11 changed everything for the worse.
What do you think?

MMDA was legal in Texas, which was close enough for Louisianans to enjoy too.

I'd say late 60s into the 70s, but with my luck I'd get drafted and get my dick shot off in southeast Asia. So, imma just say 70s.

Adam Carolla always says “Mid coke, pre AIDS” so I’m guessing late 70s

This is probably the answer. 1967-1977. Boomers will never know how great they had it.

It should be legal everywhere today.

Agreed. I had a helluva good time. Also got to be a child of the 80's which I wouldn't trade for anything.

graduated LSU in 1979, mid 70s to late 80s would be pretty hard to beat

Late 60s / early 70s were great unless you got drafted and went to Vietnam. Also the late 70s disco scene was terrible.
Answer is 84-91 or so. You still have great music without all the wars and inflation of the previous decade.
