Various Pelicans Players injury timelines as we sit now

Dejounte Murray - Game time decision on Wednesday , possible minutes restriction
Herb Jones - Game Time decision on Wednesday, but has only participated in non-contact practice
CJ McCollum - CJ is back
Zion Williamson - no timeline given. Given his past history with Hamstring injuries, his conditioning leading up to that moment...I think we should estimate him being out 2 months, so I would not expect to see him again in 2024, but we have really no way of knowing for sure. I am aware Shams said that it could be a 4-6 week injury, putting him coming back in early December-ish, but I just will not believe any timeline at this point on him, especially not one that is not released by the team. 11/23 update: Not remotely close per Shams, not expected until at least January.
Jose Alvarado - shams announced today, Nov 12, as a 6 week timeline. That would put him back returning Christmas Eve. The team announced 3 weeks until he would be reevaluated.
Brandon Ingram now added: has calf soreness, did not practice today 22/26

Shams said Pels are thinking 4-6 weeks but it all depends on how he does with rehab. So like you said we don’t know.

The "he showed up early to rehab" comment from a Twitter guy yesterday got me fricking pissed mad.

Yes, I realized I excluded that and clarified. It was not released by the team so its hard to say. And 6 weeks puts us pretty close to 2025

Thanks for putting this together.

Yeah that comment was put out to show Zion was more mature and different about rehab. Lol yeah ok pels hahahaha

Added Hawkins.
One thing to keep in mind is that you never know how an injury is going to react, so these are all very rough estimates, and the Pelicans are known for being pretty conservative, so timelines usually go longer as they slowly ramp them up to basketball activity

Yup keep in mind Zion also reinjured his hammy last time he went through rehab. I don’t see how that guy in the earliest isn’t back until after all star break.

I think they are going to be unbelievably cautious with Zion. His injury recover will be the longest possible timeline, and then his return to court will be the longest possible timeline. I don't expect him in 2024, and nor should any of us.

I'm just gonna sticky this bunch until no one is hurt.
So it'll be at the top the entire season.

This thread was initially in the hopes of expressing some optimism. Jose being out is laugh out loud funny

Pelicans playing 4D chess on the tanking game.

It would be hilarious to see a sign next Pels game that says “Stretch Pels!! Please Stretch First!!”

We have to commit to the tank.
In 2 weeks the season will be too far gone to salvage anyway.
Look at our schedule. I don't think we win a game till 2025

Why does it always seem we are the only team in the NBA that has this bad of injury problems?
