Best redfish spot closest to Baton Rouge

After driving back from Grand Isle/Port Fourchon this morning, buddy and I got to discussing what we think might be the best redfish spots closest to Baton Rouge. As a result, I am interested in what the board thinks. I/we don’t need specific spots (but always happy to learn of some) - more just general areas to check out. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Most all decent spots are ~2 hrs away… Too far for my liking.

The closest spot is probably Slidell with any kind of reliability.

eastern Lake P or lafitte are likely the closest to BR with any reasonable chance of catching

Year round I would agree, but you can definitely catch them in Lake P. out of La Place and even into Maurepaus at certain times of the year.

With the river as low as it is, wouldn’t have to go that far.

Peavine/Frenier Landing Launch in LaPlace off Hwy 51 is about 30 minutes out of Baton Rouge.
IF it hasn't rained in a good while, I've heard people catching redfish off the bases of power line structures in west Pontchartrain.
Here's an article from August of this year talking about it

In theory, catching redfish at the power lines in west Lake Pontchartrain is pretty straightforward: you pull up to within casting distance of the concrete bases, make a few casts and, if nothing happens, leave for the next one.

Power line redfish in west Lake Pontchartrain are one of the most overlooked and underrated fishing opportunities in Louisiana. Specifically, the powerlines that stretch across the lake can make for easy, drag-peeling fun during the summer!

I have found that any of these stretches can be productive for redfish, blue catfish and black drum, but my favorite is the row of transmission towers running from north to south.

To catch them consistently you are gonna have to run to at least Galiano.
