Will be in Nashville on a Sunday night in the next few weeks with nothing to do. I assume there is live music every night of the week there. Not looking for a big concert, but a listening room or Tipitina's style place would be cool. Any recommendations?

The music will be there. The crowds will be lighter. Best of both worlds. Literally every building has live music coming from it. I’m sure others will chime in with specifics but just pop in and out as you make your way down the strip. I prefer the smaller bars.

The Bluebird is the famous listening room in Nashville. Worth checking out.

Roberts is a honkey tonk but always had great old school country & western music.

We were just there over Labor Day, go to a Street just north of Broadway called called printers Alley

There are several smaller venues with incredible music and the vibe is awesome

Check out The Listening Cafe, cool place that has singer/songwriters perform.

not unusual for there to be a show at the ryman on sundays, if there is id do that. If not then all/most of the bars etc downtown will have music. ACME feed and seed is a cool place to hang and they always have music on sundays, for example

I was just in Nashville and was told by “Big E” to check out the blue grass at The Station Inn on Sunday’s. I wasn’t in town on Sunday but it’s in the Gulch area and apparently pretty popular destination on Sundays.

The Bluebird Cafe is almost impossible to get tickets to. Look at their website and give it a try, but don't expect much. I would try The Listening Room or 3rd and Lindsley. The Listening Room especially has lots of shows and they are very good. You do need to buy advance tickets, mostly, but they aren't expensive. The Commodore Grill at the Vandy Holiday Inn is also a great place to listen to music. I agree with the poster who mentioned Acme Feed and Seed. It's got a very chill vibe.

There is music everywhere almost 24/7/365. The bars on Broadway open at 10 and have live music then. As the day goes on, some of them have more than one band on different floors. There are lots of good rooftops as well. I haven't been yet, but I'd like to check out the piano bar in the basement of the Lainey Wilson place.
