That's a high quality data 2x4 across the face right there.

Way.
The fact is that Reagan first used that line in 1980. The cumulative inflation from 1976 to 1980 was 44.8%. Obviously, everyone was worse off for that.
The cumulative inflation from 2020 to 2024 has been 21.8%. That's still high, but less than half of what it had been leading up to the 1980 election, and less than the cumulative inflation rate of 26.1% for Reagan's first term.
The fact is that in every election since 1980, people have generally been better off since the previous election. If you're not, it's not the president's fault.

Took a while for Reagan to unfrick a fricked economy. Way better over the last 4 years and that's not the president's fault? GTFO

Anyone can objectively see we have a corpse in the White House.

I'm not sure I understand your question, am I way better off than I was 4 years ago? Without a doubt. Is it the president's "fault"? I would say that President Biden is not responsible for my improved position since he took office.
Are you not better off today than you were 4 years ago? Do you give credit to/blame the president either way? Or is your economic position your own responsibility?

I go to the grocery store and buy gas. Is that my responsibility the prices skyrocketed?

No, it's your responsibility to beat the rate of inflation.
Prices always go up. Inflation averaged about 2% per year for the first 3 years of Trump's presidency. Prices were up, does that mean your economic position declined? Probably not.
Inflation has averaged about 5.5% per year over the last 4 years. My investments earned about 12% per year over the same time span - not to mention my property values. My value has therefore gone UP over the last four years, even correcting for inflation.
Stuff is more expensive, but I have more money.

Did you vote for Kamala yet? I hear she’s awesome.

No, I didn't vote for anyone for president this time around. I don't like any of them.

I think she's kind of silly, and not very serious. I can just imagine what Putin would do to that poor woman.

It sure as hell declined now. Comparing inflation from 2016 to 2020 and then 2020 to now is comical. And no my income hasn't kept up with the price of inflation. But that's somehow my fault?

You people will try to spin anything.
These last 4 years have been disastrous. On every metric measured by humankind. Yet, here we are reading your spin on a hard fact.

You may make more money but that money doesn't go as far. So tell us how you're better off, please.

The "independents" always control every election, only thing is, one side rarely wins them by a super wide margin.
If you win independents by 10% that's considered huge.
She could win them by 15% (impossible) and they are still behind.

I don't understand your point, inflation is inflation, it's just the rate that changes.
Under Trump it was a relatively acceptable 2% per year - excluding the COVID year. Under Biden it has been an unacceptable 5.5% average, although indications are that it's coming back down to a more acceptable 2.4% rate. I'm not sure why you don't think those numbers can be discussed.

Whose fault is it that mine has? Are you just looking for someone else to blame for your own shortcomings?
Posted on 11/5/24 at 3:54 pm to Harry Boutte
How much more money would you have if Trump was in office the last 4 years. Exponentially more. Inflation cut into your gains and you’re happy cause you made money? That’s some strange reasoning.

You must be young, as you seem to have no idea what "disastrous" really is. Did you lose your job? Were you evicted from your home? Have you been getting meals from the soup kitchen?

And yet the growth of my net income and personal wealth have more than exceeded the rate of inflation over the past 4 years. Are you saying that's somehow inhuman?
Personally, I don't believe you're as bad off as you claim.
