Man that sucks. Losing a dog is hard. Some of you have no freaking spine whatsoever. Whether you like Herby or not, it doesn't matter. A man and his dog will always have a bond. My prayers to the tough guy.

Hey Kirk, my dog died from cancer a year ago and no one cared.

Sucks to hear.

I've got a Maine Coon who thinks he's a dog. I'd be devastated to lose him.

Wish he hadn't done the crying thing but I do feel for him and his family and his Big Man, Ben

I've been through this and the question is when does it transition from doing what's best for the dog to selfishly putting the animal through hell with treatments. Sounds like Kirk has probably passed that point.

You and yours, as well as anyone who found enjoyment from your dog did.

Ain't no one trying to get on social media these days unless they are all about instant gratification.

I'm sure he has said at some point, but how old is Ben?

Had a 7 year old Golden keel over and die from cancer. Hardly showed any signs prior that he wasn't feeling well. Had the vet do an autopsy, as I was mystified that he would just fall over in the kitchen like that, and he was full of cancer.

Jesus Christ, why would you ever put a dog through that?

3/4 of our goldies died of cancer. One was a rare form of detached bone cancer, other two were brain cancer.
