Questionable Movies Your Parents Took You To See At A Young Age

There’s two for me that distinctly stand out:
1. My dad took me and my sister to see Mars Attacks! when it was out in theaters. Think that came out in 1996 so I was 5 at the oldest, yet somehow I remember being terrified, especially the head of the dog being swapped with the woman’s body. Terrified to the point where we had to leave during the movie.
2. My mom and I went to see Wedding Crashers. So I was probably 14 at this point. We both shared similar taste in wholesome goofy comedies, and that’s what she thought Wedding Crashers was. Albeit, a very funny movie, it has a lot of nudity. Specifically tittays. In the first 10 minutes there’s a scene with several hoes they pick up at weddings with their tits out. And they were great tits. Unfortunately, I had to see those tits while sitting next to my mom, and then watch the rest of the 90 minutes of the movie trying not to think about them.

I was 11 at Titanic.
The violent demise of a massive ocean liner and hundreds of people screaming and dying and falling and freezing in total agony for a solid 20 minutes... no big deal. An officer shooting two passengers before putting a bullet in his own head... eh, so what.
Rose drops her robe for 15 seconds and my mom makes me leave the theater

It was before my time but I've heard a lot of older people name the Exorcist. It was an Oscar buzz movie with a religious theme and a lot of Catholics or unwitting parents took the family to see it and were shocked at what they saw.
It probably still holds the record for people leaving the theatre due to shock.

Legend of Boggy Creek.
That MF movie was rated G.
Scarred me as a youngster. I wouldn't go back in the woods for months.

I can remember my mother seeing maybe one movie in the theater with me, and that was Karate Kid 2. Most of the time my parents just dropped me off and I saw whatever I wanted.

Freebie and the Bean when I was 11. There were a couple scenes that were probably a bit much for a boy that age but I didn't mind

I went to see Twister (PG-13) at age 9, Independence Day (PG-13), at age 9, Titanic (PG-13) at age 10, and The Patriot (R) at age 13. Beyond that my parents usually paid attention to the ratings when I was growing up.

My dad loved going to the movies and he just took me to whatever he wanted to see. I saw Porky’s, Friday the 13th, etc. I guess it was just a different time.

A Clockwork Orange when it was originally released and at the showtown drive in to boot. Was told to lay down in the back seat when the bad parts came on.

I was 8 in 1984, and my dad took me to see The Evil That Men Do.

A woman in a tape says that she was raped with a bottle.

A man being tortured is stripped nude and his pubic hair can briefly be seen. Electrodes are attached to his nipples and genitals. The man's genitals are never seen through the seen though.

A nude woman is seen lyng on a gurney covered in blood after being tortured to death offscreen.

In one scene Bronson hides under a bed while two woman make love on it. We do not see them actually perform any sexual act, but we see one woman strip naked and walk over to the bed. Her breasts and pubic area can be seen, albeit very briefly.

Same. My parents were less than thrilled at me seeing more of Kate Winslet than they thought I should have.

My mom and a neighbor lady took me to see "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" when I was 14 (rated R). I'm not ashamed to admit: that movie fricked me up for a couple of years.

I saw it at 7. The tape was sitting on top of the Betamax. Parents were gone, and the babysitter across the street was having a family issue.
Damn....

I watched Mischief in the theatre when I was 10. I was in love with Kelly Preston from that point on.
