What is this and how do I kill it. Started noticing it in several yards on my street last year. One house down the street has a complete yard of nothing but purple flowers right now. It's starting to pop up in a few spots in my yard this year and I want to get it under control quickly.

I’m not great with names, but you can easily hand pull that. All of those flowers should come from one root, it’s a pretty hard/thick root. Pull hard and it’ll come right out.

Ive pulled every cluster I've seen, I'd just like to know how to keep it under control

And has pretty little flower with minimal foliage, can't see any leaves in your pic. I like it

I prefer a yard of St. Aug grass, not wild flowers.

Pretty flowers. You should let them go to seed.

Wild Aster. Any common broad leaf herbicide should take care of it. Just read the label to make sure it’s safe for St Aug.

It is probably the only thing native in your yard. Hang around and you'll see something come to it, bees or butterflies....something else. Don't kill whatever shows up.
It is Aster, a native wildflower.
