Since the other thread was anchored for some reason.

I’m officially done with him. He still has plenty of value right now and I’d rather trade him now and get back assets to rebuild this team.
Murray/Herb/BI/Trey/Hawk is who we build around.

Murray, Herb, Trey, Hawk... yes.... BI still needs to be traded also... he's a fricking plague in the half court offense and he doesn't play defense

Fire Willie first, get DJM and Trey back in a month. Then see how we do.

Easy to say after arguably the worst game of his career, but I’m also not saying you’re wrong.

He’s added weight since he was drafted.

has he ever been asked if he practices the game of basketball in the off season?

The guy has not added a single skill, nor improved on a skill since entering the league. Worst in most areas.

His first game ever was his best outside shooting night of his career.

He's been more bad than good through his first four games.

He is wrong. This city only gets elite players when we win the lottery. BI is here cause of AD. Zion is here cause of lottery. We couldn’t even lure a backup C like Drummond and are stuck with Theis. There is no pot of gold on the other side, trade Zion and we will have no chance. This team has a chance at full strength but they have to make a move at the 5.

He's also been more hurt than healthy

I’m not married to keeping BI.
I just want to get rid of Zion and see what Murray and BI can do with a good supporting cast of shooters and get us playing faster.
We just can’t play at the pace necessary to shoot more threes with Zion.

A chance to do what?

Make the 2nd round of the playoffs, but that's about it. And a lot of things have to go right just for that to happen.

You are right in this regard: our only chance at having a top 5 player in the NBA is keeping Zion. But it's becoming abundantly clear that there's a less than 1% he ever reaches top 10-15 player in the NBA, let alone top 5.

It's a shitty spot we're in because we are handcuffed by Zion with no way out other than to just wait it out and then trade him during the final year of his contract like we did with CP and AD.

Then trade him based on that instead of a reaction to a small stretch of games

He’s also injury prone, can’t shoot, and always out of shape. He’s really just not that good now.

I think there’s enough talent on this roster that it should have a chance to compete for a title AT full strength but that’s with the presumption we trade for a real starting 5 and let someone else have a crack at HC. When I say a chance, yeah maybe 2% is generous. I don’t think it’s worth shutting down yet, there’s no guarantee we could reload and get a team this talented.

We had that last year and people wanted him gone.

You were giving reinforcement to op's post. Therefore I assumed you wanted to trade him. If you don't want him traded then cool
